Hey Jude,
you do make a sad song better. 🩷
This song has always felt oddly intertwined with our story.
Paul McCartney originally wrote Hey Jude as Hey Jules—for John Lennon’s son, Julian. But “Jules” didn’t quite have the same ring, so eventually, Jules became Jude.
Our first daughter was named Jules.
And years later, we gratefully ended our family with this precious gift—Jude.
Jules + Jude.
Two names. One song.
And a connection that will never be lost on me. 💜
Today was our Jude’s kindergarten assessment day. Next Tuesday, she officially begins kindergarten.
Another beginning. Another little letting go.
We love you so much, Jude.

Since yesterday, Quincy Jules and I were wearing matching colors, Jude Leni thought today we needed to match. 😆.
She also wanted to show her spunky personality by having me put color strips in one side of her double bubble braid.
