🎣 Fairview Bass Team Update – Tennessee Bass Nation HS/Jr State Trail Stop #3 🎣
On March 28–29, 2026, the Fairview Bass Team had three High School teams compete in Stop #3 of the Tennessee Bass Nation High School/Junior State Trail on Dale Hollow Lake. With changing weather, heavy boat traffic, strong winds, and limited knowledge of the lake, our anglers faced a tough two day grind—and they persevered.
This event was scored on a two day total weight, and all three teams battled through challenging conditions.
Day 1 Results
• Boat 101 – Ian Parks & Trace McCoy
3 fish for 9.01 lbs, averaging an impressive 3 lbs per fish.
• Boat 148 – Haden Brite & William Reid
2 fish for 4.29 lbs.
• Boat 151 – Noah Whaley & Partner
No keeper fish weighed in.
Day 2 Results (boat order reversed)
• Whaley & Fleming weighed in 1 fish for 1.22 lbs.
• Brite & Reid put together a strong day with 4 fish for 8.50 lbs, including a Big Fish of 3 lbs 10 oz caught by William Reid.
• Parks & McCoy stayed consistent, weighing in 1 fish for 3 lbs, again maintaining that 3 pound average.
Two Day Tournament Results (136 Teams Total)
• Brite & Reid – 6 fish, 12.79 lbs. 81st place
• Parks & McCoy – 4 fish, 12.01 lbs. 85th place
• Whaley & Partner – 1 fish, 1.22 lbs. 125th place
Thank you to our boat captains who help make this possible!
** An update on overall points and State Tournament qualification will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

Many people see fishing as relaxing—and for most folks it is. But tournament bass fishing is a mental and physical sport. These anglers and boat captains put in countless hours preparing. They wake up at 3:00 AM, battle cold, wind, rough water, equipment issues, and boat traffic. They run through treacherous wakes to reach fish they found in practice—only to realize sometimes the plan just isn’t working.
You grind. You adjust. You question yourself. Then finally… that first keeper. The excitement, the momentum, the hope. You hunt for number two… and three… sometimes you find them, sometimes you don’t. At weigh in, you look around and see teams whose families have fished these lakes for generations—anglers who grew up on this water and come in with absolute monster limits. That can bring on a feeling of defeat, and the mental game starts all over again.
🚨 What makes me most proud?
These anglers keep coming back for more.
For two of our teams this weekend meant nearly 24 hours of fishing over three days—and remember, Fairview Bass Team anglers are just 13–17 years old.
So, the next time you see a Fairview Bass Team hat or jersey, give them a head nod. These kids have earned every ounce of what they’ve accomplished.
🎣 Yes, I am an extremely proud coach!
