Fairfax Fletcher Soccer Club Updates

Signups for Spring Soccer are open! Please register by March 4th so we can enter our teams in the Vermont Soccer League. Home games and practices will be held at the Cambridge Community Center in Jeffersonville. U14 Games will be off site field TBD as we do not have a large enough space. (Last year U14 played home games at Mills Riverside for example.)

U6 & U8: We will not be offering this at this time.

U10, U12 & U14

Schedule: Practices will be twice a week and a game on the weekend. Usually Sundays, but last year we saw more Saturday games than in the past. Practice night will be determined by coach/player availability. We understand that there may be some crossover players with other sports. The game schedule will be posted by the VSL in late March-April.

Uniforms: Players will be using our Fall 2025 uniforms which include a Custom Jersey, Black UA Shorts and White Socks. We have not included uniforms in the registration costs. If your player does not have a uniform you will have to purchase one for an additional fee of $40.00. Please select the Uniform option at payment. (We are trying to figure out the uniform link so you can select a team and a uniform in gotsport)

Coaches: We are always looking for coaches. New coaches will need to complete the certification through Gotsport and returning coaches will need to make sure their certifications are up to date. Beyond the Gotsport background check at the club level, the VSL also completes a background check for all coaches.

Roster Size: At each level we have chosen a target number of players that will allow a team to be successful. The lower end is the number we feel will allow the team to be registered and the higher end is the number where we feel players will still be getting valuable playing time.

Age Divisions: Players should register for the appropriate division. Please reach out if you have questions on the correct division. In the VSL there is no allowance for players to play in a division below their age group. Please select the age you plan to play in on the registration page. U10, U12 or U14.

Hello FFSC Families,

My name is Dominic Caforia, and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some information about a summer soccer camp I’ll be running this July at BFA Fairfax High School.

I’ve recently completed my second season as the Varsity Girls Soccer Coach at BFA Fairfax, and I’m excited to continue building the program in a positive, player-centered way. In this role, I’ve come to truly appreciate everything FFSC does for soccer in the Fairfax community, and I would want nothing more than to assist in the continued growth of the game locally.

Some of you may already know me - whether through a daughter in the high school program or from seeing me around the Nordic Indoor Soccer Center. While I coach at Nordic from November-June and may find myself on the opposite sideline from FFSC at times, I’m always (quietly) rooting for the Fairfax kids. At the end of the day, I simply want to see this community and its players succeed.

With that in mind, I wanted to offer FFSC families early access to camp registration before it opens to the general public. My hope is to have as many Fairfax-area players involved as possible, and I’d love for FFSC athletes to have the first opportunity to sign up.

The camp will take place July 13-17. Below, you’ll find a link to the Facebook event page along with the registration link. I’ve also attached a flyer with all relevant information for families who may not be on Facebook—please feel free to share.

Nordic indoor offers two levels of play. We choose the level of play that will most benefit the abilities of the registered players. If there are enough players for multiple teams in a specific age/gender and the skill level of the players allows, we will divide players based on their current development level and enter a team in each of the two levels.

Players should register for the appropriate age division. Players are allowed to play up an age division, but cannot play in a lower age division. Remember January 1 was the cutoff so check your players birth year. Nordic director indicated some flexibility if skill level is appropriate.

U10 Indoor practice session at Fletcher School Sundays from 1-2.
We will determine a start date once we get a feel for interests and numbers. The hour-long session would be 30 minutes of skill building, and 30 minutes of scrimmage at the end of each meeting (with stoppages for instruction). It will cost nothing to sign up, but for insurance reasons we have to do an official sign up through the Got Sport process. Another thing to note is that in January (session 2) the age divisions will shift due to a new year starting. You may choose to play up sessions 1 to keep continuity through the three sessions. Please reach out if you have questions on the correct division. You are also allowed to register(and pay) for multiple divisions if you so choose. (Ex.U10 player may also play U12 with separate registration.)

Registration thru October. 17th (Fall FFSC Participants only) then opens to anyone until Oct. 24th

FFSC fall participants will be given priority for roster spots on a first come first serve basis. After the 17th registration will remain open for teams needing to fill roster spots until the 24th. If we have to reduce rosters to the roster maximum number, it is based on registration order.

Are beautiful sunsets and evening walks around a soccer field your thing? Love spray paint art projects where you just trace lines? Helping the FFSC board can be simple!

We need board members!

We do jobs like hold down a handle and watch spray paint go on grass. We help connect families to coaches with emails. We check our PO box once a month. We update our website (occasionally 😬). We order uniforms once or twice a year. We set up team pictures. We make posts 😉. We register teams with the right association or camps or jamboree coordinators. And we pay bills during the winter to make sure dedicated coaches and athletes can play indoors in Essex all year long!

These tasks individually are usually small but if we don’t have people doing them they become overwhelming to our limited volunteers. Some of our board members no longer have athletes in the club and plan to end their tenure this fall. We are looking for at least 2 people who could take on a task(or two).

Please reach out, even if you only feel confident in trying one thing for FFSC (like checking our PO box every few weeks 😁).

We really do need you to keep our athletes playing!⚽️

The official start to the soccer season is Aug 23rd at 8:45AM at BFA Fairfax (the upper field)! Used cleats and some shin guards will be available to swap or buy for a $5 donation (cash or Venmo). We will also be having a sale of old uniforms, shirts, balls, etc. (Sizes for youth to adult).

At the start time (8:45-9:30), your littles athletes (U4-U6) will meet their coaches and try some fun games with new friends.

At 10AM we will welcome all the U8 athletes to come play some games to evaluate their current skills and meet all the possible coaches for the Fall season.

Yes, older players are starting practices this week, but you can still sign up using the register button on our website!
