๐ The 2026 Iron Dog Race Route Map Is Official
Weโre extremely excited to announce that the Iron Dog Board has finalized the 2026 race route, and weโre heading back up to Fairbanks this year.
The 2026 course will cover 2,318 total race miles and travel through 27 communities, once again challenging racers across Alaskaโs remote backcountry in the worldโs longest, toughest snowmobile race.
Race Details
๐ The ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ ๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ is scheduled to begin on February 14, 2026, departing from Big Lake, AK, and finishing on February 21, 2026, in Fairbanks, AK.

๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ riders will depart on February 12, 2026, from Big Lake.
๐ก๐๐ช for 2026: Riders may choose between two routes: Big Lake โ Nome or Big Lake โ Kotzebue.
๐ The ๐๐บ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ riders will also depart on February 12, 2026, from Big Lake, with a finish in Nome.
