The wind had the trees extra “talkative”yesterday. A slow, snowy run through the woods with the hounds. Enjoying the subtle symphony of ravens, wind, trees, snow and the cadence of the team’s footsteps and breath. Extra grateful for our backyard winter wonderland on runs like these ❤️❄️🐶

Leg stretcher sunrise run before work today ☀️ since it was a short run and warm out June came along for her first sled ride! We had a couple important lessons on sled physics.

Pups got their first multi run series in! Temps were brisk hovering around -25F but good gear and good food (for both dogs and human) kept us cruising down the trail 😎 ❄️ 🐶

Team bonding day today. Long loose walk in the woods followed by some inside cuddle time after. This is what 23 dogs in a 12x12 space looks like, I think we can fit a few more! 🤣🐶

Elisa met baby Peppa 1 when she came to visit the kennel last fall and jumped at the opportunity to sponsor Peppa 2 as soon as we made it available. Peppa no longer joins on training runs like Peppa 1 did when she was smoll 🐷 but she is very much an integral member of the HTK team. Her most important job being to enforce healthy eating habits. Nothing makes you go after your dinner with gusto like a 200lb pig staring you down waiting for you to take your eyes off the bowl for just a second!

First cold weather run for the yearlings!

Big temperature swing after some snow fall, with a lil wind thrown in 💨 means we get the works! Dog booties x4, jackets, foxtails and wind guards. Running with all that gear on is something that takes practice. Long cold runs are one instance where the human team mate gets a shout out for all of the time and patience spent to put clothes on 12 fuzzy wiggly canine toddlers 😂😅🐶

Big thank you to Kat Roche for sponsoring her namesake, Roche! Roche is part of the rugby litter named for the 2024 US Olympics women’s rugby team. Kat may not have been on the US rugby team but she was on the team of referees that officiated the match, which is just as cool and totally badass!
