Here is 9th grade athlete Amalee with a strong start at yesterday’s race, eventually finishing in third place 🥉

She is also our most recent Trail Boss:

Last week at practice, Amalee was asked to move up to the front of her ride group; she wasn’t particularly comfortable moving ahead of some of her teammates (who she perceived to be faster). However, after a few minutes on the trail, she had left them in the dust, and had to stop a few times during the rest of the ride to wait for them. Amazing Amalee, the current Wildcats Trail Boss! 🤩

A mixed start to our race season at the Binder Lake “Mini Bash” in Jefferson City - disappointment for our high school boys having their races cancelled in the morning due to an injury on course that required a sustained trail closure for EMS to evac the injured athlete. Then, a scorching yet amazing mid-day and afternoon for our girls and middle school boys. Here is video of the start for Liam (9th grade boys A), whose race was cut short due to the course closure. Liam has been working very hard, putting in long rides in the heat to prepare for his jump from the B class to the more competitive A category this year. We can’t wait to see what he does at Rolla in two weeks. GO LIAM!

The Eureka HS and JR Wildcats MTB have blazed through some 🔥 practices lately. Not only are we preparing for our NICA race season, we also have our own fundraiser race-

THE INCINERATOR, on September 20th.

The location is at Route 66 state park in Eureka! All levels welcome, advanced racers down to casual riders and kids. All proceeds going to the Wildcat team consisting of 6th-12th grade student athletes Gravel bike and mountain bike divisions for A and B categories. C race is more casual, and U12 is just one lap.

Come out and support the team, and Lucas, this week's Trail Boss recipient!
