The Escanaba Athletic Field just got a whole lot better!

We are incredibly grateful to the Rosemurgy family for their generous donation of these new picnic tables and umbrellas to the Athletic Field. These tables will provide a great place for families, fans, athletes, and our community to gather before, during, and after games for years to come.

This is what Eskymo pride is all about — people investing in our kids, our facilities, and the future of Escanaba athletics.

🏈 ESKYMO HISTORY — WALL OF FAME

Today we remember Dr. Roy Thomas Bergman, a true legend of Escanaba athletics.

Dr. Bergman served as the Eskymo team physician from 1972–1991, dedicating nearly two decades to the health and well-being of our athletes. His commitment went far beyond the sidelines—he welcomed athletes into his office and even his home, always ready to help, always with a joke and a smile.

A former three-sport standout himself, his passion for sports medicine took him to the Pan American Games, National Sports Festival, and both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

In 2015, Dr. Bergman was inducted into the Eskymos Wall of Fame.

His legacy lives on in the athletes he cared for, the lives he touched, and the Eskymo tradition he helped protect. 🧡🖤

Thank you, Dr. Bergman, for being part of Eskymo history.

* 🏈 THE GAME ENDS. THE LEGACY BEGINS…

Some players leave behind statistics.

Some leave behind stories.

And some leave behind a legacy.

Gary Bougie was never the biggest guy on the field. He didn’t need to be. His toughness, competitiveness, character, and relentless drive made him an integral part of the 1973–74 Eskymo football teams.

As a senior, Gary recorded an incredible 6 interceptions in a 9-game season and helped anchor a 1973 team that finished 9-0, outscoring its opponents 323–65.

But his greatest legacy wasn’t found in a stat book.

It was in his love for his teammates, his family, his community, and Eskymo football.

The Escanaba Quarterback Club is proud to honor Gary Bougie as part of the Eskymo Football Wall of Fame — Class of 2024.
