Introducing the new coach for the 2026 Middle School Club Softball team! We are so excited to welcome Coach Brittni Collins, and appreciate her help with the HS tryouts the past couple days.
Our middle school club team has been in existence for 30 years! How cool is that?!
Tryouts are scheduled for Monday 3/16 and 3/17 after school. Please bring a glove and face mask, wear tennis shoes, and be prepared for indoor or outdoor! Huge thanks to Coach Petree for helping get everything set up. She held an interest meeting last week and we had 11-8th graders, and 13-7th graders sign up. This year's team will be made up of 7th & 8th graders, and we will only have one team. Unfortunately, due to limited coaching, the cost of running two teams, and the time commitment to coach that many girls is not in the cards. Players will be evaluated on skill, attitude, and effort.
I wish we could give every girl the opportunity to play, and that will always remain the goal for the future.
The meeting was also held for 6th graders, and we had 13- 6th graders show interest in playing softball this year. In years past we've had a 6th grade team play in the Wizard's spring league. If we have a parent, or someone interested in coaching I can help put it together, but it would need to be soon! The Wizard's league consists of double headers on Sundays and you can schedule additional games throughout the week. It is a good league for experience and to get the girls playing competitively together. Please reach out if you are interested in coaching, and I will help you get started.
