This weekend was about so much more than softball.
A few years ago, our Ephrata Enforcers had a vision for the BJP Tournament. They wanted to create a tournament that would not only honor BJP and the incredible legacy she left on girls sports in Ephrata, but also give back to the community that has supported them throughout their softball journeys.
This year, that vision reached a new high.
Thanks to the generosity of teams and families from across the region, the 3rd Annual BJP Tournament collected and donated 907 pounds of food to our local food bank. What started as an idea from a group of young athletes to honor someone who meant so much to Ephrata athletics has grown into something that is making a real difference in our community.
While we’re proud of our runner-up finish in a hard-fought 16-15 championship game, we’re even more proud of the character, leadership, and commitment these girls continue to show off the field. They have embraced the idea that success isn’t measured only by wins and losses, but also by the impact you have on those around you.
To our players: thank you for dreaming big, honoring BJP’s legacy, and continuing to prove that athletes can be leaders in their communities. Watching this tournament grow each year and seeing the impact it has made is something truly special.
The food donations, the sportsmanship, the friendships, and the community support are what make this tournament meaningful. We couldn’t be more proud of what these girls have helped build.
