Softball with a Heart: Englewood League Steps Up to Bat for Local High School Swimmers! 🥎💥

The Englewood adult softball league is back, and they are playing for a major cause!

On September 26th and 27th, the league is hosting a massive charity tournament to raise vital funds for the Lemon Bay High School swim team. Organized by Kelly Williams and parent Nichole Reyes, this action-packed weekend features a coed tournament on Saturday and a men’s tournament on Sunday, complete with concessions, raffles, and local vendors. Every single dollar raised goes directly toward travel, new swim gear, and uniforms for the high school athletes.

Just a group of people, some strangers some friends, who came together to bring the fun and love of softball back into our community.
We strive to be a softball league where those who have never played are taught and encouraged, and those who are experienced are appreciated for teaching.

🥎 LOCAL BUSINESSES, STUDENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS - WE’D LOVE YOUR SUPPORT! 🥎

Did you know the Englewood Adult Softball League is a local nonprofit organization? ❤️

Yes, we love softball. We love a little friendly competition (okay… sometimes very friendly competition 😂), but what we’re building goes far beyond what happens on the field.

Our goal is to use adult recreational softball as a way to bring our community together, support local organizations and families, and give back when there is a need.

🌟 LOCAL BUSINESS SPONSORS WANTED!

We’re currently looking for local businesses interested in sponsoring one of our teams by providing their team jerseys - approximately $400 per team.

In return, your business gets its name represented by a team of local players throughout the season and exposure within our growing softball community. It’s a great way to support a local nonprofit while getting your business name out there!

🙋‍♀️ STUDENTS NEEDING COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

We would also love to connect with local students who need community service/volunteer hours.

Throughout the year, we host tournaments and other events where we can use extra hands. Students can help with different tournament-day responsibilities while earning service hours and being involved in something positive right here in their community.

❤️ WHERE DOES OUR NONPROFIT GIVE BACK?

We’re proud that our league has already hosted two successful benefit tournaments supporting local causes, including our local youth softball organization and C.A.R.E., our local organization serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

And we’re just getting started.

We already have additional benefit tournaments planned to support:

🏊 LBHS swim team
❤️ Other local organizations, teams, families and community members when a need arises

Our players get to come out and play the game they love, but at the end of the day, we want this league to mean something bigger than softball.

Local adults supporting local kids. Local businesses supporting local players. Our community showing up for one another. ❤️

We’re excited to announce our next softball tournament, and this one is for a great cause! Support our local student-athletes 💪

Gather your team and come compete, or sign up as a FREE AGENT and we’ll help get you on the field!

🏊 All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Lemon Bay High School Swim Team and help support the 2026 Mantas Swim Season.

🥎 FALL REGISTRATION IS OPEN 🥎

Kelly is opening registration early because the county wants the field request by July 6th and payment is needed by mid August.

Fields are open September 1st - and closing November 22nd until January 1st.

Monday night Co Ed will be: September 7th - November 16th.

Tuesday night womens will start September 8th

There will be 8 regular season games and double elimination playoffs.

Thursday night men’s will be: September 3rd - November 19th.

There will be 9 regular season games and double elimination playoffs.

Coed and Womens Draft will be done once fields are paid in mid August. 2 weeks before the first game (hopefully).
