Can you believe our Denver Broncos are in the playoff race for the first time in 8 YEARS???

If the Broncos win their next 3 games, they have an 80% chance of making the playoffs, so they MUST win every game. Luckily, they have the easiest remaining schedule among the teams in the playoff race. But they do need some help from other AFC teams losing as they are the 11th seed. So I broke down which games to watch this weekend and what teams we need to lose to boost the Broncos’ chances.

As a general rule of thumb, you want any AFC team to lose (and forever and always the Chiefs):
🏈 Bengals (8-6) @ Steelers (7-7) - a Steelers win, and the Broncos’ chances goes to 82%, but a Bengals win drops it to 76%
🏈 Bills (8-6) @ Chargers (5-9) - the Bills are only 1 game ahead of the Broncos with the Broncos winning the tie breaker
🏈 Colts (8-6) @ Falcons (6-8) - the Broncos need the Colts to lose at least 2 of their final 3 games
🏈 Browns (9-5) @ Texans (8-6) - the Broncos need 2 losses from both the teams in the remaining 3 weeks

With so many teams with a close record to the Broncos, it makes the playoff picture a bit more foggy. While the only thing the Broncos can control is winning their final games, but at least we can boo some other teams in the meantime, right?

🔸New series alert!!🔹

I started this out selfishly so I didn’t have to do my own research, but I realized Broncos Country probably had the same questions as myself. So, call me a saint, but I decided to share. I’m going to do these roundtables throughout the season on questions you all may have, and you get to have them answered by the people that I count on daily to update me on Broncos news. Save, share to a Dummy who needs it, and let’s get prepped for week 1, baby!!

Day 3 (also day 2 lol) recap !!

Because it wouldn’t be a dummies recap if I didn’t screw up the posts, but our 3rd pick at round 3 happened on day TWO. You would think these things would be simple for me. Anywho. Pick 83 overall went to Iowa Cornerback, Riley Moss. It seems that we are aiming to rebuild our special teams, and he could be a great addition to it. Some people say we gave up too much to get him (traded up from pick 108 and a 2024 3rd round pick), but that just means this guy’s got the juice. Right? I’m pretty sure that’s what that means.

Our 4th pick went to round 6 pick 6, JL Skinner. He’s a safety coming from the Boise State Broncos - so makes rebranding pretty easy. This is another player we probably will see on special teams so just building on that ST train.

Last but not least, our 5th pick and the 3rd to last in the entire draft went to Center Alex Forsyth. Hailing from Oregon, he will be adding depth to our O-Line, behind Lloyd Cushenberry, Luke Wattenberg, and Kyle Fuller. We shall see what Payton and Joe Lombardi scheme up for this dude.

Although the draft is over, there’s always a chance to add on undrafted players before game day, so stay tuned 🤘🏻

Day 2 recap!

Broncos’ first pick went to Marvin Mims, Jr. Lots of people were stoked about this pick and I can say I was shocked simply due to the fact that I don’t understand the draft whatsoever. But if people are stoked, I’m stoked! We also traded up for him so Payton & Paton, LLC were team Mims. But, we have a new WR!!

Second pick went to Drew Sanders. As of doing about 7 seconds of research on our 5 draft picks, he is so far my favorite. Why? Mainly because he looks scary and intimidating and that’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Or what I ordered who knows. Welcome to !

The 2023 NFL draft starts THIS THURSDAY (for everyone else lolz not us). Rounds 2-3 are Friday 5pm MST and rounds 4-7 are Saturday 10am MST. Free agency was wild this off-season, mainly due to the lack of draft capital. BUT. Doesn’t mean we won’t see some major signings by the dynamic duo Payton & Paton - which honestly should be the name of CO’s top law firm.

Offseason is among us, meaning free agency is in full effect. And this year, the Broncos are putting the gear in throttle-maximum-plus in signing some of the free agents on the market.
