The Side of the Business You Don’t Always See

A lot of people see the finished project, the fresh landscaping, clean yard, or completed transformation, but there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes to make it all possible.

Today, I’m hauling and dumping sod that was removed from a property for an upcoming project. It’s not the glamorous part of the job, but it’s a necessary one. Loading, hauling, unloading, equipment maintenance, material runs, and cleanup all take time out of the day before the actual project even begins.

Running a small business means wearing a lot of hats and putting in work that often goes unnoticed. Every load hauled away and every hour spent on prep work helps ensure the finished product is something I can be proud of.

What a difference a fresh landscape makeover can make! This was a big one and I couldn’t have finished this one in time without some help.

This project started with old, faded rock, exposed w**d barrier, and landscape beds that had lost their curb appeal. After removing the tired material, cleaning up the beds, installing fresh river rock, and redefining the edges, the entire home has a clean, bright, and welcoming look.

The new stone not only boosts curb appeal but also provides a low-maintenance landscape solution that will look great for years to come.

Tore out the old rock bed, cleaned everything up, installed fresh mulch, and completely changed the look of this side yard. The dark mulch and clean edging really made the shrubs and landscaping pop again.

I've included a couple of photos taken before and after the cleanup, which focused on an area that was particularly noticeable to my client. In addition to w**ding, I also mowed the lawn to give the yard a fresh and well-manicured appearance. Thank you for all the support as I am trying to get caught up with all my bookings.

This year, junk removal has easily become the most requested service for Maurer Home Services and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has trusted us to help clean up their homes, garages, yards, basements, and properties.

Our schedule is completely booked out for the next couple weeks, and the calls/messages are still continuing to come in every day. It’s honestly an incredible feeling to see this business continue to grow, especially knowing it’s all because of the support from this community.
