Jennifer Han Became El Paso first World Champion in 2015 when she successful defeated Helen Joseph of Ghana Nigeria in a 10 round bout at the down Haskins Center September 19, 2015. As a result of this amazing achievement Commissioner Andrew Haggerty petitioned a resolution to recognize Jennifer Han and her accomplishment. She was awarded a proclamation October 5, 2015 recognizing that September 19 would be known as “Jennifer Han Day”.

A year ago today, we pulled of a history making event. Rumble in the Chavez....it was the first time a boxing event was ever held on the stage of the Abraham Chavez Theater located in Downtown El Paso. It was a dream that brought together a team of visionaries that had one goal in mind, and that was to be trailblazers in the way boxing was being promoted in El Paso. We achieved our goals in record time and created historical events and productions. Documentary series like "Unwrapped", and making the cities sponsors have faith in the production value of our events were some of them.
While we celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Rumble in The Chavez, along with the fighters who left their blood, sweat & tears on the tarp that night, we also wish to acknowledge the loss of one of the team players of Destination El Paso, who wholeheartedly took the time, after one of our event meetings, to stop us as we left and let us know that he saw our vision, and was not only excited about this and potential future events, but was truly elated with his role and what it could do for the future of Combative Sports in Downtown El Paso. We celebrate the life of Richard "Mardi Gras" Madrigal today, and wish comfort lay among his beautiful daughter and family members. A passionate visionary, father, and all out great human being. Rest in Heaven Richard, and Thank you.

Don't forget to support your local fighters Nov 14th when RJJ brings Brock v Valenzuela for the WBC USNBC Lightweight Title, this fight is going to be shown early enough for you to catch the Rousey fight, so NO EXCUSES, support Combative Sports, and catch the action!

Nov 14th RJJ Promotions returns to El Paso, Texas with a formula for success, there will be some local favorites on the card, Carlos Villa who put on a great show for the Jennifer Han World Title Fight, Ernesto "Beenie" Hernandez who had the knockout of the night in his El Paso pro debut in April, and the main event, for the WBC USNBC Lightweight Title, El Paso's Oscar "Piti" Valenzuela who is a menace in the ring. He has no easy opponent, Demond Brock is all fight.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this event unfolds, and for the great fights that will take place in the ring. Support local boxing, support your local boxers, it's always fun to say "I heard of him"...its better to say "I supported his journey there"
(And for those MMA fans....the fight starts at 2pm, plenty of time to catch the live action, then make it to your sofas or favorite sports bar to catch Rousey v Holm)

2 Great shows today, at 2 pm Lamont Peterson takes on Felix Diaz Jr Live and brought to you by PBC (changing the game on how boxing is presented), then tonight undefeated Triple G with 33 wins, 30 by way of knockout takes on Lemieux, whom some may say is the first real opponent Triple G has gone up against. A great day today for boxing fans, and thanks to our friends at Cabo Joe's...shown with no cover tonight (Gateway location only). The action starts early, so come in and support those that support the sport. Plenty of cold beers, great views and awesome food, with their new Lobster, Clam, Mussels, Crab or Shrimp Boils....pound for pound action meets pound for pound seafood. Boom!
