It’s been a while since I’ve posted here but as football season is on the horizon already I figured I’d make a few announcements about this page

Last year and the few months I posted in 2024 were a ton of fun, I love reporting, I love being around the sport, I love getting to cover high school games that sometimes don’t get as much coverage as other teams do

With that being said it is with a heavy heart that I will be backing off on the coverage this year. I still hope to bring coverage of some games here and there, I don’t know if there will be as much in depth writing as there was last year such as rankings, pregame and weekly articles. It may just be in game and post game articles.

This decision comes due to the change of jobs, changes in health, changes in hobbies and life. As some of you are aware I make no money doing this, I don’t think even if I set up a subscription like service I’d make much money to begin with but it was never about money it was just about my desire to get into some journalism and to bring coverage of local teams.

With all that being said I will still try to get out to some games but I thank you all for your support and interest the last year

JK Sports Network will be bringing coverage of the 2026 Portage Spring Classic this year

Tournament is April 25th, 2026

The four teams in this years tournament are Portage, Turkeyfoot Valley, Juniata Valley and Bald Eagle

Look for more coverage regarding the tournament as we draw closer to the event

With local games coming to an end, JKSN’s in game coverage of high school football for the year will come to an end as well.

I want to take this time to thank all of you for your support. On November 11, 2024 JKSN was made and had two followers on Twitter. In the course of a year we have gone from two to two hundred thirty three followers spread throughout four social media website. We are still very small and have a lot of room for growth but I am beyond thankful for every like, comment, view, article read and every interaction. I hope your support continues into next year and beyond.

I want to especially thank the fans of Portage Area High School, Penn Cambria High School, United Valley Football, Windber Area High School, Bishop Guilfoyle, and Conemaugh Township.

I thank all the community pages and Facebook groups that allowed for our articles to be posted and shared as well.

If you have any comments, questions, recommendations about what you’d like to see next year or saw this year feel free to reach out.

Bishop Guilfoyle (10-2) vs Juniata Valley (10-2):
JKSN will be bringing in game coverage of Bishop Guilfoyle vs Juniata Valley on Twitter/X at JKSportsNet. Post game article will be available after the game on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Substack. Bishop Guilfoyle is not in unfamiliar territory, in the last seven years they’ve been champions for District six five times. They are coming off of a year where they not only won the district title but also the Class A state title over Port Allegheny. Since 2018 Bishop Guilfoyle is 3-1 against Juniata Valley in the playoffs. Juniata Valley has been in this spot multiple times but only has one title, a 36-20 win over United in 2018. The last time they made the championship game was in 2021. In 2024, the Hornets were eliminated in the first round of District 6 playoffs by Bishop Guilfoyle in a 49-0 blow out. Juniata Valley has had a much more successful season and is looking for revenge in this Friday’s game.

Huntingdon and Penn Cambria meet for the District title

Good morning,

By now I usually have a coverage excerpt for the Game of the Week I’ll be covering. I’m currently trying to get Altoona School District to contact me back to get sideline coverage approved for Friday night’s District 6 Championship between Penn Cambria and Huntingdon.

I was given access last year throughout the playoffs I am uncertain as to what the hold up is this year. I’ll still attempt to do a game of the week excerpt and article regardless but I wanted to make the announcement that I am still waiting for approval.
