Three players from the Mass Hurricanes 18U Showcase team and Attleboro High School will compete for the Division 1 State Championship this Saturday. As starters for the Bombardiers, all three have made significant contributions to Attleboro's run to the championship game.
Senior and CCRI commit Sophie Borges patrols left field and recently made a fantastic diving catch that helped Attleboro defeat Central Catholic in 11 innings. Sophie's bat has also been on fire. She went 2-for-5 with two RBIs in the 5-4 victory over Central Catholic and blasted a home run while driving in five runs during Attleboro's 10-0 playoff win over Bridgewater-Raynham.
Junior Savannah Boedeker, a right fielder with a strong arm, has made several key defensive plays and prevented runners from taking extra bases. In playoff victories over Bridgewater-Raynham and Weymouth, Savannah went 6-for-8 at the plate with four RBIs and six runs scored.
Sophomore Avery Graziosi stepped into the starting third base position vacated by 2025 Attleboro graduate, current Mass Hurricanes 18U player and RWU freshman standout, Maddi Moran. Avery's power at the plate has been a major story throughout the league, as she has hit nine home runs this season, including two in a win over Oliver Ames. She drove in two runs in Attleboro's 7-1 playoff victory over Bishop Feehan.
We are excited to watch these athletes compete for a state championship this Saturday at 5:00 PM at Worcester State University. We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing what the future holds for these Mass Hurricanes players. Good luck, ladies!
These families and players trusted our organization with the development and growth and we are proud you call yourself Hurricanes.
