2021 Borderland Bomber Tryout Rules

New Rules:

Declared rounds:
-------------------

Players must declare their round is starting prior to their first throw. The round must be completed on the layout that was established. A round can start on any hole, but again must be declared and then completed prior to starting another round.

UDiscs submissions are preferred, but not required.

Rounds must submitted once they are completed. Send screenshot or photo, of all players that were declared, to Tom Fisher, Jon Cattel or Noah Cronin. You can also post to this tryout page.

Averaging/Drop Scores:

Players may submit as many rounds as they would like, per layout. There will no longer be the ability to drop your lowest score. Players could, for example, have 20 rounds submitted for one layout.

Total scores, averaged out, for each layout will be added together.

Layouts:
---------

We will be playing the normal pin positions. Until the baskets are relocated, players can ONLY SUBMIT ROUNDS from Blue to Blue or White to Blue. Once the baskets have been moved, we will open up postings for White to White and Blue to White.

Captains will be posting for a work day to assist with relocating the white baskets.

There will be 10 open male spots, and 2 open ladies spots, for tryouts this year.

Dates:

Tryouts rounds start when the park opens Sunday 4/26/21 and end when the park closes on Monday 9/6/21 (Labor Day)

Layouts needed:
------------------
You will have to submit a minimum of 4 rounds (1 white-white, 1 blue-white, 1 white-blue, 1 blue-blue)

All scores submitted for each layout will be averaged for one score. Total score of all 4 layouts added together will be your cumulative score.

Lowest 10 male scores and lowest 2 ladies scores make the team.

*** Tie breakers among 2 players will be played in 1 round match play format on a random layout chosen day of. Random layout will be one of the 4 layouts in tryouts.

*** Tiebreakers among 3 or more people will be a score based round on random layout chosen day of. Random layout will be one of the 4 layouts in tryouts.

How to submit:
-----------------

You can submit scores by either posting it on the Bombers tryout or messaging one of the captains (Tom, Noah or Jon)
All scores must be submitted immediately after the round is finished.

Please make the best effort to track your scores via UDisc. If you use paper cards captains will have to confirm with all players on the card that the submitted scores are legit.

In order to submit a round you must have at least 1 current or former bomber on your card to witness your round. Ask the captains if you are unsure if a player is a former bomber. Spouses/Significant others cannot be a witness.

Bombers were on fire this weekend across New England!

We went back to back with having a team member WINNING the MVP Open AM side! Greg Peterson came from chase card to take down first place for AM1, while shooting a very clean 1024 rated final round!

Second and ninth place were also by team members with Alex Vigeant and Andres Ripley claiming those spots, respectively.

Stephanie Barnett also crushed at AM Side taking 10th place overall in the her division!

And last but not least was Dylan Capaccioli easily taking first place in the B Tier Spring Fling at Birch Park. Dylan shot -17 across two rounds (982 and 1045 🔥) to walk away with a 9 stroke win.

We ended the hybrid MA/RI TC with a regular season record of 5 and 2, taking 3rd place in our division.

After an incredible first round battle, we lost to Team RI at their home course in a 2 hole playoff. Hats off to a great putt by their Captain, AJ, who sunk a 40' around a tree for their win.

Bombers will be resuming a tryout format this year in which details will be coming out very soon to coordinate them. Follow this page to stay up to date with the tryout information.

Congratulations to our very own Kim Kisil and Dylan Capaccioli for taking FIRST place in their respective divisions (Advanced Female and Advanced Male) in the MVP Open AM Side at Maple Hill!

We (6-0) take on Team Disc Hut 2 (4-1) at Page Park. A win today secures first place overall at finals. LFG!

West T goes down! Hard battle in singles, leaving the match tied going into doubles.
We took care of business in dubs earning 15 of 21 available points. Final score 25.5 to 16.5!

A long time rivalry will be renewed as we host West Thompson this weekend. Bombers are looking for another win to maintain our first place position!
