Registration for the Big Al Scholarship closes on 8/22!

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 🏆🎓

Committed to keeping the memory of Big Al Santie alive through academic scholarship, the yearly scholarship honors the legacy of Big Al who coached Riverside Little League for 31 years and sponsored the "BIG AL'S" team for 25 years. Big Al served as a father figure to many Riverside youth.

Four scholarships of $500 will be awarded‼️

𝑴𝑬𝑴𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑺𝑪𝑯𝑶𝑳𝑨𝑹𝑺𝑯𝑰𝑷 𝑮𝑼𝑰𝑫𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑵𝑬𝑺:

📍CRITERIA:

•All applicants must be residents of East Providence and have participated in youth sports for a minimum of three years

•Two recipients must be current residents of Riverside and must have participated in Riverside Little League for a minimum of three years

• Recipients must be highschool graduates and will be entering college (includes career, technical and other post secondary education) in the year which they have applied for the scholarship

🗣️AWARDS COMMITTEE:

•A committee will review the applications to determine who will receive the 4 scholarships

•This committee will be appointed annually by the Riverside Little League Board of Directors

•At least two of the members of the committee must not be Riverside Little League board members

🎁NOTIFICATION OF AWARD:

•Applicants must complete and submit their application no later than August 22, 2026. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

•Recipients will be notified by August 30th

•Disbursement of $500 will be given by September 12th

It is truly exciting to see the community rally together to bring softball back to life in East Providence! Collaborative efforts between the leagues, players, coaches, and families create a powerful foundation for lasting success and unforgettable experiences for the athletes. ❤️

If you haven't been following EP Softball these last few weeks, you've been missing an opportunity to witness true sportsmanship. 🥎 Two teams...made up of Riverside, Central and Rumford...supporting each other while competing against each other. 💪🏼🫶🏼

❤️The RED Townies beat out Barrington in tonight's first semifinal game, so a huge congrats goes out to them! 🥳

🤍The WHITE Townies will face Barrington in tomorrow's semifinal game at 10am! 😱

The winner of that game will go to the championship game against the RED Townies!

All of EP is in this together...see you at Pierce Field at 12pm to cheer them on while celebrating all their effort and dedication! 👏🏼
