BREAKING: Eagles sign Phillie Phanatic following offensive line injuries
With half the Eagles' offensive line currently held together by athletic tape and an increasingly desperate injury report, Philadelphia has reportedly signed the Phillie Phanatic to an emergency contract.
The 300 pound green menace became available immediately after the Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs, leaving him unemployed until spring and emotionally unstable around anything resembling a baseball.
Team scouts were impressed by his enormous belly, aggressive hip movements, and decades of experience terrorizing innocent people with a four wheeler. During his first practice, the Phanatic reportedly flattened three defensive linemen, ate an entire catering tray, and attempted to fight a tackling dummy because it looked at him funny.
His contract includes unlimited cheesesteaks, a personal ATV, and a lifetime ban on anyone mentioning the New York Mets. Coaches say his biggest weakness is pass protection, primarily because he keeps abandoning his assignment to dance on the opposing team's sideline. The Eagles are reportedly optimistic, noting he's already the only player on the roster who can block three people with his stomach.
