Sofia and I are making the trip up to Barton to ride with Liz! Can’t wait!
Saturday, May 30 at 10:30 am come by the Main Ring to watch a clinic with Liz Austin Dressage!
Liz Austin Dressage offers top training and instruction for riders of all backgrounds. Head trainer, Liz Austin, has been competing in dressage since 1989 (she was five). She began riding sales horses for her mother, Madeleine Austin, when she was twelve, the same year she started her first horse under saddle. At sixteen she competed in her first Prix St. Georges on a horse she trained herself.
She competed very successfully in the Young Rider division culminating with an individual silver medal with the KWPN stallion Hierarch in 2004. At twenty-two Liz made her Grand Prix dressage debut in Europe riding Olivier, her mother’s homebred stallion. Liz had a banner year in 2011 competing internationally with Olivier, including wins and placings at four CDIs in Florida, being invited to ride in the 2011 World Dressage Masters and she is currently on the USEF "B" Team at Grand Prix. She was also the reserve rider for the 2011 FEI World Cup.
Liz has had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest riders and trainers in the world, including a two month stay in Germany. Other trainers Liz has worked with include Conrad Schumacher, Lendon Gray, Tuny Page, Jennifer Baumert, Carol Lavell, Michael Poulin, Hubertus Schmidt, Ulf Moller, Ingrid Klimke, Michael Barisone and Kathy Connelly. In 2012 Liz made a return trip to Europe with Oliver, to train with Great Britain team rider Carl Hester.
We can't wait to learn more from Liz!
