🐝🍅 MEET OUR POLLINATION TEAM! 🍅🐝

Ever wonder how we get all those beautiful cherry tomatoes to grow? We bring in the bees! 🐝💚

Today we’re unboxing our bumblebee colony from Koppert for our Cherry Tomato Bay, where we have 840 tomato plants growing!

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at the process:
📦 The bee colony arrives safely in its box
💧 Nectar water is supplied in the bottom to help keep the colony fed
⏰ We let them settle and calm down for about an hour after their journey
🐝 Then it’s time to open the colony and let our new pollination crew get to work!

Once introduced, the worker bumblebees begin visiting the tomato flowers and collecting pollen to feed the developing colony. As more workers emerge, the colony grows and their pollination activity increases. 🌱🐝

It's pretty amazing to watch nature and greenhouse growing work together!

840 plants + a whole lot of tiny pollinators = CHERRY TOMATOES! 🍅❤️
