I told them they could take a couple pictures and ended up with a full camera roll takeover. Love the energy and personality this group brought all summer! Excited to get started in November again with this group!

Girls’ Basketball Holiday Reminder:

- We will have practice around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Mid-Winter Break.

- Specific dates and times will be announced as we get closer.

- Our goal is to be playing all the way into the first week of March!

As a friendly reminder, every Wednesday this year will be also be a 10:15am start for teacher professional development.

The Unified Iowa High School Activities Federation mandates an annual non-contact period each year. This year’s non-contact window is Sunday, July 26th - Sunday, August 2nd.

During this period there will be no school related activities. This includes: camps, clinics, meetings, open gyms, workouts, music lessons, weights, etc...

Additionally, the Dunlap and Dow City school offices will be by appointment only during the non-contact period.

Today in C**n Rapids marked the end of our summer scrimmage season. Throughout the summer, these girls had the opportunity to compete in 15 scrimmages, challenging themselves mentally, physically, and as teammates. We saw strengths, exposed weaknesses, and found plenty of areas where we still need to improve.

Showing up mattered. Competing mattered. But we all know there’s another level we have to reach.

“Potential isn’t discovered by staying comfortable. It’s found when you’re willing to show up, be challenged, and see what you’re truly capable of.”

Nothing has been earned yet. 🐾

Great day of basketball today. We had five teams join us for a day of scrimmages, with every team getting a three-game guarantee. The offseason is about learning, competing, and finding both the good and the areas that still need work before the season gets here. Hopefully every team left today accomplishing exactly that.

We appreciate Denison-Schleswig, Glidden-Ralston, MVAOCOU, Tri-Center and Underwood for making the trip. We received a lot of positive feedback and are already looking forward to hosting again next summer.

We’ll wrap up our final offseason scrimmages this Friday in C**n Rapids. Thanks again to everyone who helped make today a success.

Our girls were in Johnston, IA this weekend for a 3 day team camp. They competed against a variety of 5A, 4A, and 2A programs, giving us a great opportunity to get outside our comfort zone and play against different levels of competition.

It was a valuable weekend of basketball, learning, and team bonding. Along with the games, the girls had some time to relax, enjoy the pool, and spend time together at Topgolf.

A sincere thank you to those who donated to make this weekend possible. Your support allowed our girls to have this experience.

We appreciate the effort these girls put in throughout the weekend. Experiences like this are an important part of our offseason development as we continue to grow together as a team.

First week of open gym is in the books. We wrapped it up with a trip to C**n Rapids for a couple of scrimmages. We saw some areas that need work, but also saw growth and progress from our girls. Excited to keep building this summer.
