Made the trip to McGrewBid Motoplex Friday night with Archer’s winged Outlaw 600 🏁
Archer started in the back of his heat and unfortunately couldn’t make his way through the field, putting him in the back for the feature. He took the green and barely made it a lap before hitting the tractor tire in Turns 3 & 4. He hit it hard enough to spin around 🙃
Once we got him back to the pits, we found he had smoked the front axle and radius rods 🫤 Since we were planning to use the same car Saturday at Greenwood, the crew went straight to work swapping everything out. Then we discovered the starter got screwed up from going backwards so fast 🤦♀️ Needless to say, it was a very late night and an early Saturday morning!
We got the car ready to go and brought one of our extra cars so Archer could run both winged and non-wing at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks . Unfortunately, the bad luck followed us there.
His winged heat race was a one-lane, extremely bumpy track. Archer couldn’t run the top and nearly spun when the car bottomed out. As the track started to widen for his non-wing heat race, he was able to put together some really good runs—but halfway through, the car shut off. When they brought him in, Archer said it sounded funny before it shut down.
That started a mad dash to get ready for both features with ONE car! 😳
Through all of the chaos, Archer did an incredible job. He looked absolutely amazing in the non-wing, going THREE WIDE and passing FOUR cars at once! 🔥🏁
It definitely wasn’t the weekend we were hoping for, but the determination, adaptability, and driving Archer showed through all of the adversity is something to be proud of.
Hoping for a MUCH better weekend of racing next week! 🤞🖤🏁
