A time was had by everyone who came to our 3rd Annual Dave Schlueter Memorial Tournament this past Saturday. And what a time it was! Players both young and old, new and experienced all came together to celebrate a great man in the best way.
We can't thank everyone who attended, participated, planned, and donated. We were fortunate enough to raise over $1300 to go toward new jerseys, registration and insurance costs, and new equipment to keep the youth rugby program going. A special thank you to Farm Boys Rugby and Clinton Muddy River Rugby for coming out and joining us and your continued generous support of our youth rugby program. Rugby is all about community and we are blessed to be in yours and to have you in ours.
Another special shout out to Bennie Rheeder, this years Spirit of the Tournament Award winner. Like club President Aaron Burbach stated, Bennie is a gem to have in our club. He constantly shows up and does what is asked of him. His wealth of knowledge and experience of the game flows down to our younger players. Through adversity, Bennie continues showing up and working to preserve rugby for the next generation.
