Parna is the ONLY direct disciple of the Kathak legend, Pt. Birju Maharaj in the Bay Area. She learnt from him for over a decade, taught at his world renowned institution (Kalashram), toured the world with him, was a featured soloist on National TV (Doordarshan), and performed in Bollywood movies, such as Devdas, choreographed by Maharaj-ji.
