Braves Youth Wrestling Club is designed for kids between the ages of 5 and 12. We welcome all children from surrounding counties to join our club. It is not required to be a register as a Grant County School student. The Club was created in order to allow youth the opportunity to develop their wrestling skills at an early age. Children will develop the techniques and gain the experience necessary
to be a successful high school wrestler. BYWC is dedicated to providing a positive wrestling experience for new and experienced wrestlers. The mission of the club is to give local wrestlers of all experience levels, beginner to advanced, and the best possible opportunity to grow as a wrestler. The wrestling season runs November through February. Practice is held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Grant Count High School in the cafeteria. It is not mandatory children attend every practice but is highly recommended your child attended as many practices as possible. Practices will include drills, technique and live competition. Wrestlers will need wrestling shoes, athletic shorts and a t-shirt for practice. We will be wrestling in the Southern Ohio/Greater Cincinnati Conference. Tournaments are scheduled on Sundays typically between 8:00AM and 3:00PM and last for 2-3 hours depending on the placement of your wrestler. There are many tournaments scheduled throughout the season. However, you decide which, and how many, tournaments you want to participate in. With your paid registration fee of $90.00, your wrestler will receive an USA Wrestling card, a Braves Youth Wrestling team shirt, shorts, and the use of one of our new team singlet for the season! We will have additional team apparel for wrestlers and parents for purchase available as well. More information to come……
Tournament fees are not include in your registration fee and can range from $12.00 -$20.00. All tournament fees are due on the Thursday practice preceding the Sunday tournament. For more information and to register for the upcoming season please contact Sandy Messerly
