P2 at Sebring. The full story ⬇️
Sebring gave us our toughest challenge yet.
We owe a huge thank you to Ford, Multimatic, our entire crew, and all of our fans for the incredible support throughout this weekend.
During the opening laps of Friday morning’s first test session, we suffered a brake line failure that led to an incident in Turn 10 and significant damage to the Mustang GT3. At first glance, it looked like our weekend may have been over before it truly began.
But the crew said “no way” and immediately got to work.
For the next 24 hours, the team worked nonstop to rebuild the front end of the car and get it race-ready. Early the next morning, as the sun rise came, the Mustang rolled back onto the track just in time for qualifying.
With basically no testing or even track time, Cameron Lawrence and Alex Sedgwick delivered an incredible performance by putting the car P4 overall in qualifying. Once the race began, Alex charged hard into turn one pick up two spots with incredible pace and then gapped the field along with the number 34 AMG. Cameron Lawrence took the final stint and fought hard against the 296 Ferrari in the closing laps with an incredible drive to secure P2 overall.
After everything this team faced throughout the weekend, a P2 finish feels like a massive victory.
A huge thank you to Ford and Multimatic for their unbelievable support throughout the rebuild process. Multimatic worked late into the night to provide the parts and assistance needed to get us back on track. Without that support, this result would not have been possible.
This was truly an all-hands-on-deck effort. Every single person on this team stepped up to the challenge and worked tirelessly to put the car back together. Many crew members took little to no breaks and pushed through the night to make sure we could compete on race day.
And to the fans — thank you. Throughout the entire weekend, your excitement and support for seeing the Mustang back on track meant the world to us. We truly believe we have the best fans in motorsports.
We’re incredibly proud of this team and proud of what this group accomplished at Sebring. Now we carry the momentum into Roa
