The fields have been empty of games since rec league ended but the DMS Lady Lions 🦁 have put in many hours of practice this summer gearing up for their season ahead! Come out to Wilson Park and enjoy the games this season! 🖤💛🥎

Definition of Volunteer Coach : A volunteer coach is an UNPAID individual who guides, instructs, and mentors sports teams or participants. They GIVE their TIME FREELY to support community groups, schools, or youth leagues.
This league does not exist without volunteer coaches. They truly are the backbone we depend on every single rec season. We have been extremely lucky to have some of the BEST ones on our fields.

Where it all began….Parker Scott understood the assignment and played rec ball his whole youth. He finished his baseball career as a DHS LION playing in the State Tournament clinching a Final 4 accomplishment!

We could all learn something from this. As coaches and parents, we are supposed to be setting the right example but these kids already understand what good sportsmanship looks and feels like. ⚾️🥎

SPORTSMANSHIP AT ITS BEST.
Tennessee District 9 Little League shared:

In one of the most competitive moments of the championship game, a fly ball was hit for the final out.
Emotions were high, and for one player, the disappointment of the moment was overwhelming.
What happened next is what Little League is all about.
The pitcher who recorded the out immediately knelt beside his opponent, offering comfort and support when it was needed most.
No celebration. No taunting. Just respect, compassion, and sportsmanship.
These are the moments that define our game far more than any score or championship ever could. Competition teaches us how to win, but character teaches us how to treat others when the game is over.
Today, these young athletes reminded us all that while baseball is about competition, Little League is about building leaders, friends, and better people.

The man behind the freshly lined fields. The man who can work ball field miracles after a hard rain. The man who helps us keep the league running smoothly. And so much more!!!
We couldn’t do half of what we do without Joey and his staff. He is at the park early when the birds are singing and leaves way after the sun has set for the day. He is always willing to tackle anything we ask of him. He does his job well, and with minimal funding and staff-always with a smile.
We are extremely thankful for all the hard days he puts in to make sure our kids can play ball. 🥎⚾️

Where it all began….Luke DiPietro found his love for baseball in Dresden Rec League. He is a DHS Final 4 State Champ and will continue his baseball career as a Bethel Wildcat! 🖤💛➡️💜🤍
