It’s official! After 7+ years of personal training and over a decade in the industry I am officially retiring as a personal trainer and will no longer be working in the fitness industry anymore.

This is a bittersweet moment in my life. I’ve spent countless hours pouring myself into fitness. It’s been such an amazing and rewarding opportunity.

This field allowed me to touch the lives of many people. I’ve made many friends and acquaintances through the years.

I’ve had the opportunity to train all sort of people. Both young and old. I had the chance to coach and give back to same program that introduced me to fitness. I even got to teach boot camps and private classes. And of course all the instructional and motivational video projects over the years.

I do plan to continue to workout and maintain my personal fitness but it is also time for me to move on to the next phase of my life.

I just want to thank everyone who’s supported me through this large chapter in my life. No matter if you we a client, coworker or even just bought merch I truly appreciate you all.

Much love.
On to the next…The END

EAT YOUR PROTEIN‼️

This is only a four year difference. From my competition days compared to now.

Am I bigger? Yes
Am I fluffy? Yes
Am I happy? YES

Fitness isn’t six packs and being vascular.

Fitness is HEALTHY

Too often people get caught up in their favorite fitness influencers who are most likely only showcasing their stage ready progress or posed/photoshopped images.

People forget what happens in the “off season”. Nobody is shredded and peeled all year round. That not healthy at all.

Find your balance. Find something that is sustainable for you LONG TERM that will keep you healthy and mobile.

That is true fitness.

Over the years I have found that weight training can be extremely therapeutic.

When the world seems to be crashing down on you it can feel as if you’re losing control which can then lead to extreme anxiety.

Training becomes therapeutic when the weights are beginning to weigh down on you but instead of being crushed you’re able to press the weight off of you. Then again gaining control of your life in that moment.

It’s a physical representation of you taking back your life.

At least that’s why I enjoy lifting heavy. It’s truly a means of therapy for me.

So go hard, lift heavy often and take control of your life again!

Sometimes it’s hard to believe these are the same person.

Biggest words of advice:
1. Eat your protein
2. Get quality rest
3. Don’t skip leg day

If you’re missing any of these 3 you’re doing yourself a disservice. I guarantee no matter what your fitness goals are these will greatly benefit your overall progress.

No resolutions, just work. If you’re not making lifestyle changes then the results won’t last.

That’s why the crowds thin out after January. You can’t expect to have long term lasting results if it’s not part of your everyday life.

It doesn’t have to be overnight though. You can do it in increments. Adding new small changes over time can help. I mean if it’s going to be a lifestyle you’ll have time to continually add things to the mix.

But as I was reminded of recently “Nothing changes if nothing changes.”

So get to work and make sure you won’t even need a resolution next year.

As we approach the final sunset of the year much is brewing on the mind.

Did I make this year count?
What did I gain this year?
What lessons did I learn?

All of these are great questions. But the real question is…. What am I going to do to make 2022 better than any year prior?

Pandemic or not there are countless opportunities for you to get ahead. Will you take advantage of them?

Let 2021 stay in 2021. It’s now time to look ahead as to what great conquest you have ahead of you.

A new year with new opportunities. Don’t waste it

I know many of us haven’t even processed 2020 still. But the reality of it is that a new year is still upon us.

There’s only THREE weeks left of 2021. What are you doing NOW to ensure your success for next year?

It’s time to put the excuses to the side and step up to the plate. The longer you procrastinate the further away from your goals you get.

If you need professional help don’t hesitate to get it. No matter if it’s a personal trainer or actual therapy.

Let’s not let this pandemic be an excuse to not take care of ourselves. Nows the time for change.

Next year will be different. Why? Because we’re starting today!

When it comes to reaching goals, no matter if it’s fitness or in life, you have to be brutally honest with yourself.

It takes transparent self examination.

You have to ask yourself the serious questions:

Am I getting too comfortable?
Am I doing enough?
Am I still on target?
Am I getting distracted?
Etc….

Without doing this you risk becoming completely derailed.

Now more than ever we need to be 100% honest with ourselves if we still want to be successful. This time of year many are taking vacations, eating more, and becoming more relaxed.

Are we being well balanced in enjoying life but still staying on course?

This is your reminder to recalibrate and make the needed adjustments if need be.

I’ve been a fitness enthusiast for many years but I wasn’t always an expert.

I eventually had to check my ego at the door and realize I needed guidance and proper education from actual fitness professionals.

Just because you’ve been working out for “x” amount of years does not qualify you as an expert. Nor does it mean you should be training others.

“Flex muscles. Not egos” has been something I’ve been sticking by. Take the time to get properly educated before putting others and yourself at risk.

Forever be a student and realize no matter how long you’ve been in the field there’s always something to be learned.

There is nearly 100lbs difference and many years in between these two videos. But much more hours of being a real student to this than I can count.

Be safe out there guys. You only have one body. Treat it right.

FAILURE is a part of the process 💯

There is a 135lbs difference between these two clips. It didn’t happen overnight.

I had to fail multiple times to get to this point. I had to learn to struggle.

You can’t let one failure slow you down or stop you. You must take it as a lesson.

What must be done to overcome this obstacle? How can I recalibrate and come off victorious?

Take it one day/one workout at a time. Adapt, overcome and fall in love with your failures and soon you’ll grow to become stronger than ever!!

You’re going to have to be brutally honest with yourself. Nobody is going to do the work for you.

It doesn’t matter if you to get in shape, start a business, change careers, etc.

It’s going to take action on your part. You must take the first step and initiate the process. And continue to work even on those days you don’t want to.

It is said that motivation only follows action. Just like it may take work to start a campfire you’re going to have to have to set the wheels in motion before a spark is born.

The fire will come but it on you and ONLY you to start building traction.

Hold yourself accountable and start getting to work.

To be completely honest, the goal was never to be incredibly strong. My goal was just to be healthy.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized just how important it is to go the extra mile to take care of yourself.

Working out 3-4x a week, stretching, regular massages, reading, studying, proper nutrition and so much more is mandatory not just for your physical health but mental as well.

Regular maintenance as we get older is so important. We only have one body and mind. We must do what we can to protect it to ensure longevity.

It’s never too late to start taking better care of yourself. Step up now and your body will thank you later.
