For 45 years, Darryl and Angela have walked together through marriage, family, careers, ministry, and seasons of service, building a legacy rooted in faith, commitment, wisdom, and love.
👩🏽‍⚕️ Angela Burroughs dedicated 38 distinguished years to the healthcare community as an Assistant Nurse Manager at BMC Princeton, officially retiring in 2024.
💼 Darryl Burroughs serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Birmingham, where he leads strategic technology initiatives for the city.
🙏🏽 In 2008, their shared passion for spiritual leadership led them to become licensed ministers at Faith Chapel Christian Center.
But perhaps their greatest ministry is their family. ❤️
They are proud parents of three adult sons and grandparents to three grandchildren. For the past six years, they have also poured their hearts into raising their oldest granddaughter, who is now 13.
Their story is one of endurance, intentionality, faith, family, and service.
Now, they are bringing 45 years of marriage wisdom to the R4 Marriage Gathering! 🔥

TRUE OR FALSE?

👉 You should lose your independence once you are married.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! 🙅🏽‍♀️

God did not design marriage to be slavery. Marriage is a covenant and union between a man and a woman who support, honor, love, and respect one another.

Marriage does not mean losing yourself, your voice, or your identity.

Your identity should always be found in Christ. ❤️

A healthy marriage is built on interdependence, not control or unhealthy dependence. Two individuals can come together as one while still growing, serving, and becoming all that God has called them to be.

Marriage should not erase who you are. It should help you grow together while keeping Christ at the center. 🙏🏽
