2023-2024 Lakes Lightning Club Tryout Information
TRYOUTS: Thursday, November 16, 2023
Location: Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes, 150 Richwood Rd, Detroit Lakes, MN
Tryout fee: $30
Tryout times:
13/14’s
-Check-in: 5:30pm
-Warm ups: 5:45pm
-Tryouts: 6pm-7:30pm
15/16’s & 17/18’s
-Check-in: 7:30pm
-Warm ups: 7:45pm
-Tryouts: 8pm-9:30pm
-Tryouts are closed to spectators.
-If your athlete is trying out for more than one team, you must indicate this on the registration form, and athletes need to attend both tryout sessions.
-There will be cuts, not everyone who tries out for Lakes Lightning will make a team.

A parent/guardian email address is required to create a Sports Engine Account, NOT the players. (For first time enrollees)

If you are not able to make tryouts, please contact Jodie Johnson at (701) 640-7077. Videos of your player must be sent prior to tryouts. You must still complete the tryout registration form, pay the tryout fee, and the player must have their tryout membership.
Players need to bring the below items for tryouts:
-T-shirt with the players last name on it (preferably) or a plain t-shirt
-Volleyball shoes
-Knee pads
-Water bottle
Team Offers and Club Dues:
-Team offers will be emailed to athlete’s parents after the applicable tryout session.
-Acceptance, required paperwork, and payment are due by the deadline in the email or the offer expires.
-Once all teams have been finalized, we will email the athlete’s parents who did not make a team.
-Dues will be $500 for the 2024 season.
-Athletes will need a full USAV/NCR Membership; Cost is $60 (Tryout memberships can be converted to a full membership if your athlete is offered a place on a team.)
-NEW this year - Each player is responsible to purchase the approved team jerseys (two for each player). The athletes will keep their jerseys at the end of the season.
Additional Details:
-Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in Mid-January 2024 through April 2024 in Detroit Lakes.
-The tournament schedule will be finalized in January.
-Travel/Hotel/Food expenses are the responsibility of the parents.
There is a $30 non-refundable tryout fee due at check-in payable by cash or check to LLVBC.
