New friends! There are plenty of opportunities to be alone if that’s what you need, but also opportunities to connect with new people. In past years, each person made valuable contributions to the retreat, not only the teachers. It can be easier to be vulnerable with people when you’re away from home. It’s a safe space. We have yet to have an unkind person on these retreats. I’ve observed that the type of people who seek this out are generally people who have open hearts and good intentions.

Reason number 4 to go on a yoga retreat- Take a media diet. We do have wifi on the property, but you can tell your people you’re taking a break. It was so easy to come home and not turn on the TV or look at my phone too much after the retreat last year.
