✨Lily’s Birth Story pt. 1✨(
September 23rd: I started having what I thought were just really intense Braxton Hicks, they continued through the night no matter the position change, and I couldn’t sleep through them.
September 24th: I spent the whole day in L&D triage, was having real contractions and what they call prodromal labor, and “preterm contractions with no dilation” and was sent home after 4 doses of a blood pressure medicine they were hoping would cause the contractions to stop but just made both mine and Lily’s heart rates skyrocket so they had to stop.
September 25th: lost my mucus plug and had started spotting (they thought this could have just been from checking my dilation so much)
September 26th: Riley was out of town for the marines so I stayed with family, the contractions still hadn’t stopped for DAYS and so I went back in when they were getting super intense again. Riley came home, and they gave me a “morphine sleep” to try and again stop my contractions, again it didn’t work and I slept through Sunday.
September 28th: I felt the best I had in days, my contractions had really slowed and I had finally gotten some sleep.... Riley came home from work, and we went to get some Panda Express because I was craving it. I made a joke about my water breaking and two pieces of pineapple putting me into labor, we ate our food and watched a movie - I stood up after the movie, told Riley I REALLY had to p*e because he was messing with me, and legit thought I was p*eing myself but knew I wasn’t p*eing and STILL had to go p*e - we discovered my WATER BROKE and started rushing around trying to find a way to get it to stop so we could go to the hospital. (If you’re wondering if your water breaks, YOULL KNOW. Even if it’s just leaking it’s like 10 gallons it seems like and for sure mine was like the movies. (I’ll put a funny clip in my stories 😂🙈)
So we went to the hospital, I literally had a towel between my legs and they knew right away what was up LMAO.
They asked me about the steroid for Lily’s lungs (after lord of discussing we decided it was best) and I was only dilated to a 1 but 60% effaced.
