Oh my goodness friends you have got to go purchase the fall issue of the The Turquoise Iris Journal by Dionne Woods . It’s amazing as always… I always come through it really quickly because I’m so excited and then I have to go back and sit down with a cup of coffee and just take my time looking at every image and reading every word.

New Release “Echoes of Grace” 48x60”
This is the second 48x60 in the Echoes Series. This palette is so beautiful, and I am loving working with it. I shared before, that the entire time I was growing up, my bedroom was pink and green. I adore the two colors together. They make such a happy combination.

This is a leucistic grackle.
The Grackles have been making themselves at home in my gardens, feeders and bird baths for the past few weeks. I have to shoot them away a few times a day so that all of my little birds can come down and eat.!
This one is a leucistic grackle, which means some feathers lack pigment, creating a striking white head while his body retains its iridescent colors. It’s a color variation, but still of the same species. I think he’s absolutely beautiful.!!!

This is something I’ve been working on behind the scenes recently for my interior designers. In both my Lavender Skies Series and my Echoes Series. I’ve shown you the Landscapes and seascapes, but I also have florals and abstract in both of those pallettes in progress, and I’ll show them when they are complete. I’ve worked with interior designers for the past 25 years and some of them want very random pieces of art across the home and others like to have pieces that are very different styles and subject matter, but in colors that complement each other.
I have had designers choose multiple pieces that complement each other because they want to stay with a very specific feeling both for hotels and residential spaces.
I had a lot of fun many years ago when I challenged myself to create a body of work of multiple styles and subjects in one color pallette. They were all works on paper so it wasn’t extremely risky, but I’m doing the same thing now on canvas.
If you’re wanting to experiment, it could be fun for you to decide on a specific color combo and just see how many different styles , mediums and subjects you can come up with. Let me know if you do because I’d love to see what you come up with.:)
