Colorado Accel (play on acceleration) Speed and Agility Training has come from my experience as a youth competitive soccer coach and athlete. We are a Youth focused speed and agility training for developing athletes who are competing in recreational or competitive/club sports and want to develop and increase their own performance to achieve their respective goals. My name is Jon Drogheo and I am a
Colorado native, passionate about sports, youth, and healthy living. Through my experience as an athlete, coach, and certified speed and agility coach, I have learned that we (athletes) have not been taught how to run, turn, cut, jump, and explode for speed as we start playing a sport; or even as middle school through college athletes. I teach my athletes form and technique, explaining why we do the things we do, to achieve maximum performance from our bodies. I've been an athlete since I was 5 years old, putting on a baseball uniform for the first time and have played soccer, baseball, tennis, and basketball competitively. I have enjoyed playing a game of volleyball every now and then and enjoy a round of golf. I still play soccer in co-ed teams in the metro area and in my mid 40's can play my goal keeper position with the youngsters. I played college baseball, soccer and tennis at Doane College (now University) in Crete, NE. I am a Certified Speed & Agility Coach from the National Sports Performance Association, USSF Licensed "E" Soccer Coach, and have a United Soccer Coaches Association Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma. I am competitive soccer coach working with U15-U17 boys and girls. I have also coached HS baseball at the JV and Varsity levels. My soccer coaching experience in CO began when I was coaching my daughters from U4 through U11. An avid sports watcher, I find myself watching the mechanics of athletes movements as they perform, studying how they explode from place to place, watching them run to hit maximum speed and how they jump to hit the height and distance they achieve. I teach the athletes I train the mechanics and form so they can begin to develop higher levels of performance for their age and abilities. I don't guarantee they will become elite athletes, but they will become faster, more explosive and stronger to perform today and in the future with techniques they can use their entire career.
