Spot Check: This is the Truckee River Whitewater park running right through the middle of downtown Reno, Nevada. It’s got something for everyone, some mellow beginner rapids, some bigger class 3 rapids and surf waves. It’s definitely worth stopping by and checking out.

Safety Sunday: Packrafts are ultralight and compact making it easy to travel and paddle tons of different places in a short period of time. With that it’s easy to spread invasive species from one river to another so it’s important to clean your boat before and after paddling especially in areas like this that are known to have invasive species. Ruby Horsetheif is one of the best into to multiday packing trips and West Water downstream is another amazing but rowdier multiday section. Both get paddled a ton so it’s important to make clean and inspect your gear before and after.
