Scrolling social media this week and I’ve seen how many people seem exhausted from carrying around opinions about strangers they’ll never meet…

So maybe just stop. That’s all, carry on! ❤️ 🌈

Paid off my car loan today. 🎉 woohoo!!

This is a photo of me the day I got it!

This is kind of a big deal for me. This was one of the first real “big girl” things I did completely on my own after my divorce. Today, it’s officially paid off.

No more car payments. 🙌

And this little gal? She was my foster puppy at the time and got to ride back to Colorado with me after I bought the Jeep in Kansas.

Celebrate the little things, friends. ❤️

Heart sunglasses too much today?

Maybe, but the older I get, the more I realize nobody is paying nearly as much attention to us as we think they are.

Most of us are sitting around worried about what people think while everyone else is busy worrying about themselves.

Today, I’ll be the girl in the heart shaped glasses. 😎❤️.

Just be you!

Long day!!! Anyone else?

I used to be excited for Fridays but as an entrepreneur Friday isn’t the end to my work week.

Some days you cross five things off your list. Some days you spend the entire day putting out fires, answering emails, solving problems, and wondering what you actually accomplished.

If today felt messy, frustrating, exhausting, or unfinished, that’s okay. I didn’t get to 5 things on my list today but the things I did accomplish I’m proud of!

You don’t have to finish the whole journey today. Just keep moving.

Tomorrow is another chance to build something great.

Keep going. You’re probably closer than you think.

Maybe you aren’t barking up the wrong tree.

Maybe you’re trying to figure out which tree you’re actually climbing.

Those are very different things.

When something isn’t working as quickly as we’d hoped, it’s easy to assume we’re on the wrong path altogether. But sometimes the challenge isn’t that the dream is wrong, it’s that we’re still figuring out the right direction, strategy, or next step.

Before you quit, look at the evidence.

What have you learned?
What has gained traction?
What keeps pulling you forward?
What opportunities keep showing up?

Not every detour is a dead end.

Network. Network. Network.

Being introverted doesn’t mean you don’t like people. It can just be draining at times and reenergizing is needed afterwards.

But networking is necessary. Some of the biggest opportunities in my life have come from conversations I almost didn’t have.

A coffee meeting. An introduction. A quick conversation at an event. A person who knew a person who knew a person.

Networking is all about building relationships.

As an introvert, I don’t always love networking.

But I’ve learned something important:

You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room. You just have to be in the room.

Art is subjective.

The artist usually knows what they were feeling when they created it, yet everyone who sees it brings their own story to the canvas.

What do you feel when you look at this painting?

Sadness?
Peace?
Hope?
Loneliness?
Something else?

I painted this 12 or 13 years ago while thinking about my black lab mix who had passed away. She never actually played with a red ball, but for some reason that bright red spot became the happiness in the painting for me. The reminder that even in loss, there are pieces of joy that remain.

My dad sees this painting and gets emotional every time. He says it brings a tear to his eye. He sees a dog waiting for someone who isn’t coming back.

I’ve had other people tell me they see something completely different. Some people see light breaking through in the background. I always saw that too. But recently I found myself wondering something different…

Was I painting hope?

Or was I subconsciously painting the darkness that was still ahead of me?

At the time, I had no idea what life would bring over the next decade. The losses. The changes. The moments that I couldn’t imagine.

Maybe that’s why I find art so fascinating.

Sometimes it captures what we know. Sometimes it captures what we don’t know yet.

The painting hasn’t changed in over a decade. The viewer has.

Maybe that’s true for life too. Two people can experience the exact same event and walk away with completely different stories. One sees heartbreak. Another sees growth. One sees an ending. Another sees a beginning.

The canvas stays the same. We change.

So I’m curious…

What was your first feeling when you saw this painting? ❤️🐾🎨

Loving the light in my new loft office.

For years I thought success as an entrepreneur was freedom, money, flexibility, maybe house with a pool.

Nope, turns out it feels more like finding the perfect spot in your house where the lighting makes you look like you drink enough water and have your life together.

I’ll take it. ☀️

I hope you find your sunshine today! Happy Wednesday!

Hi, I’m Jasmin(e).

I recently re-introduced myself on here, but then I realized I mostly talked about the things I like. That feels a little one-sided.

So here are some things I do not like.

I do not like pumping gas.

I do not like doing laundry.

I especially do not like unloading the dishwasher, which is interesting because I have no problem loading it.

I do not like folding clothes. Everything that can be hung gets hung. Underwear and bras are the exception.

I do not like grocery shopping.

I really do not like people who park their cart in the middle of the aisle and then spend seven minutes reading the back of a soup label like they are reviewing a legal contract.

I do not like packing for long trips.

I do not like Aperol Spritzes. I have tried. Repeatedly and still do not understand the hype.

I do not like running in the rain.

I do not like Brussels sprouts.

And I definitely do not like when someone at the table next to me orders Brussels sprouts and suddenly I have to smell them too.

I do not like crazy drivers.

I do not like when people think they should have a vote in someone else’s sexual orientation, relationship, identity, or personal life choices. There are approximately 8 billion people on this planet. I promise there are more productive things to focus on than how someone else chooses to live their life. 🌈

Be kind. Mind your business. Let people be happy.

Anyway, those are a few things I do not like.

Happy Tuesday!
