Wolfpack wiffle ball field was up and ready for the pack on Saturday afternoon. It was a fun filled event and I’d like to thank everyone that was able to make it out. We got some good swings in before the rain came, and then we ate some pretty tasty food.
As many now know this is the end for our Delmont adventure. While the team name will change, the pack family lives on. We will be resurfacing soon under our new team. Please welcome the 15U Greensburg Hitmen!

I would like to give a shout out to Golden Triangle Construction as they provided us with a case of white marker paint for our baselines and fencing for the outfield.

Big shout out to the 15U rec boys for winning the HAAA League Championship. These boys showed passion and love for the game all season long. They never gave up all season long and always left it on the field. I’m lucky to have had the privilege of coaching and growing these boys, not only into ball players but even better young men. As I told them before the game, we aren’t just a team, we are family. Unfortunately a lot of our times have come to an end in the Delmont organization, but we aren’t done yet. 1 more tournament this weekend and then off to bigger and better adventures.

The Wolfpack headed north to Bradford this weekend for the Ball in Bradford tournament. We started off Friday night against a stout Erie Seawolves team and dropped the first game 7-2. Strong pitching performances and a solid effort at the plate from Jeff Vuksan and Bodey Davis helped to keep us in the game.
Saturday saw us play the DC Diamonds. The DC Diamonds scored late to take a 10-9 lead. Unfortunately we lost as the umpires called for the time limit prematurely (I think he needed a nap) and we went down earning the 5 seed in bracket play.
Sundays first game against the Flying Squirrels. Ilario Filippini took the bump and went 4 innings, giving up 1 hit and no runs while striking out 6 to secure a 10-0 victory. Brayden Topole and Cooper Caulfield provided the pop at the played collecting multiple hits.
The semi final had us taking on Twin Tiers baseball. We dropped the game 6-4 as we just ran out of steam.
Overall, very proud of the boys this weekend. They left it all out on the field. Wyatt Grebek was getting peppered at shortstop and stood his ground. Zack Kozinko and Emmett Stefaniak played solid at 1st and 3rd making plays. Our speed in the outfield kept long hits to short gains. And Cooper “Wall”field played tremendously behind the plate. Solid pitching from Blaize Reed and Jeff Vuksan was a huge help this weekend. A big thank you to C**t Henry for filling in for us. Without him we probably wouldn’t have been able to play.
A couple of weeks to regroup then off to the Central Valley Grand Slam Showdown. I’m out folks.

Sorry for the delay but it was a busy weekend over the 4th as The Wolfpack played in the Delmont Bash Tournament. We started of pool play with a 4-2 victory over the TJ Jaguars. Congratulations to Zach Kozinko for taking home the MVP honors for driving in 2 runs and locking the game down with a strong performance on the mound after taking over for Logan Artman.
The 2nd game of the double header didn’t go as planned as we took one on the chin and lost a 10-0 game to Chartiers Valley. Congratulations go out to Cooper “Coop” Caulfield for taking MVP honors in that game with a strong relief performance on the mound.
Sunday we returned for bracket play and handed TJ Jaguars a 5-0 loss to move on to face the next challenge of the tournament. It was an all around team effort in the grind it out game.
As for the semi final game……well I can’t really post about it but unfortunately our weekend has come to a close without any hardware.
On to the Kessel Athletic Complex in Bradford next weekend, where we will play more stiff competition. Good luck boys.
