It may not look like much but Springs like this are what made the Natives prefer the Ouachita Mountains over the Ozark plateau.
There's a reason the Osage only claimed the Ozarks as hunting grounds. The land of hidden waters can be unforgiving when it comes to water collection.
The Ozarks are made up of a lot of limestone and dolomite which act like a big sponge in the ground. When it rains, the ground just soaks the water up, filling massive underground rivers and caves. In summer when its dry. Collection of water would have been hard.
The Ouachitas just stay perfect year round💦😉 this was not lost on the Natives of the area. The Caddo and Quapaw flourished here year round because of these springs of the Ouachitas 💎

Did you know that deep within the Ozarkian underground, there's a population of Blue People..
