C/O 2023, GPA 3.84, 3rd/2nd/1st
My name is DeLanie Perry and I am a high school freshman for the 2019-2020 school year.
I have played 2 years of varsity softball for the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles (Deltona, FL), the first season as the staring 1st baseman (7th grade) and the second season at 3rd base (8th grade)- but also 1st base, 2nd base and short stop - with 3rd being my primary position. I am now playing 3rd base for the Deltona High School (Deltona, FL) Wolves Varsity team. I have been a consistent asset on the field and in the batting lineup, finishing the season with the 2nd highest batting average (.441 with 1 strike out on the season) despite having been off the field for a few games with an injury at Trinity. Additionally, I was named to the 2019 All District Team and also 2019 All Area Team Honorable Mention, both honors received as an 8th grader. With the Deltona Wolves, I was the starting varsity 3rd baseman and batted 6th in the lineup. Before the coronavirus shut us down early in our season, I was already on the stat leader board, ranked #11 in the district as a freshman.
The highlight of my 2019 was making the Central Florida Eagles Select - Rip It 16u team, a team formed of players from all over the central Florida region, that traveled to Oklahoma City to compete in the Triple Crown OKC national tournament. Under the leadership of Coach Traci Conrad-Steele, who had an amazing career with Michigan softball, our team went undefeated and won the Triple Crown 16u Division Championship.
I have been playing travel ball since 10u, and I am currently in tryouts with 2 high school division showcase teams. I am looking forward to returning to the clay! In the meantime, I am still practicing, boxing, weightlifting, and conditioning.
