My secret to training good trick riding horses? Is training good RIDING horses. Zoey is still figuring out how to hold off balance weight, but she is definitely gaining some confidence in herself and understanding that she does the thing I tell her to do until told otherwise. Whereas when I first started working her she was constantly looking to be told what to do every moment.

So this mare strides out making it a very dangerous game of hitting my head on the ground or not around the corners so if you notice some performance I have to grab the crooper handles on the back of my saddle to lift my head from hitting the ground 😂

Going back to trick riding after two major surgeries and a year off from those, it’s not just a physical challenge. It is big time a mental challenge. Not only did I loose much of my muscle that keeps me upright and gets me in and out of tricks safely, but I also lost a lot of confidence. Luckily I’ve been blessed with wonderful horses that I know I can trust ❤️
