Come join the UMCGD next month for our glass blowing experience! We will be in Dearborn to see professionals blowing glass up close. This experince includes 2 drink tickets that allow you to choose beverages from various local brewers. The best part is that you get to keep the blue glass you choose to drink out of that was blown at the academy! Tours will also be available at the top of each hour.

The park is home to a variety of well-loved amenities, including the Historic Hamtramck Stadium, soccer arena, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts and practice wall, and playgrounds. Please join us in some much-needed improvement and beautification activities - such as weeding garden beds and planters, measuring and inventorying equipment, and generalized maintenance and beautification -- which will keep our park as a gem of Hamtramck!

The Club had a great time this evening getting ready for the upcoming football season at our annual kickoff dinner! Ford’s Garage in Dearborn was a great place to host our panel and discuss all things Michigan Football. We had a packed house with great food and drinks enjoyed by all.

Join the U of M Club of Greater Detroit as we team with the Kintsugi Village!

Kintsugi Village is a gathering place in Detroit where people learn, create and grow together through shared experiences rooted in curiosity and connection. Located in Detroit’s innovation district, Kintsugi brings together education, art, food, nature and community into one connected ecosystem. During your volunteer experience, you’ll help activate and care for our garden spaces through planting, preparing beds, weeding, watering and general beautification efforts that support our students, families and broader community. Kintsugi Village is located in Corktown across from Newlab. They have their own parking for volunteers! Please drive slowly and carefully as you enter.

The U of M Club of Greater Detroit is proud to bring you the 2026 Kickoff Dinner on Monday, August 31st at Ford’s Garage in Dearborn.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tailgate food will be served, along with a cash bar, and Michigan Football video highlights.

Tickets are $50

New Head Coach Kyle Whittingham will try to return the 2026 Michigan Football team to their championship ways.

Please join the U-M Club of Greater Detroit at the Bayview Yacht Club and be part of the opening night of the 2026 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship! This prestigious event has been hosted around the country since 2002 and it's coming to Bayview for the 3rd time!

The club has reserved the upstairs lounge that gives you access to Bayview's upper balcony for the best views of the races. If you have been to our events here before, you know this is where they sound the horns to start the races.

Light dinner menu is as follows:

Parking: The club is at the end of a canal. We have our event, the races, and general members enjoying their club. There is plenty of parking but it backs up away from the club along the canal. The entrance gate will be opened to the public at the start of the event.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO COME CHECK IN WHEN YOU ARRIVE! This is a private club and there will be BYC members enjoying their club. There will be signage to guide you to our area. Name tags (provided) are especially important for this event.

Food will be out for your enjoyment from 6-8pm.

Make sure to sign up EARLY! This event sells out fast, and we always have a large waitlist!

Go Blue! Celebrate the University of Michigan with the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on September 25 with the UM Club of Greater Detroit and University of Michigan Club of Greater Ann Arbor !

The evening includes access to the Chevy Pavilion, a ticket to the game, and a custom co-branded University of Michigan hooded tee, perfect for showing your Wolverine pride in style!

Located in left field, the Chevy Pavilion provides space for 100 guests with an exclusive pregame area directly behind your seats and access to the Atwater Bar (alcohol NOT included). Your registration includes grilled chicken, coney dogs, mac & cheese, cole slaw, Lay’s potato chips, Pepsi Products, and ice water. Note that the menu is subject to change.
