With Mountains 2 Beach marathon cancelled (was to be Memorial Day weekend) and uncertainty surrounding Ironman events later this year, I have been struggling with motivation to get out and run or bike (swimming is pretty much off limits, even in open water). I need to reset and get back in gear -- I need to destress in general, but especially so I can go back to sleeping through the night!

So this is from the finish line on Sunday. Good thing I’m so stoic, or you might be able to tell how uncomfortable I was feeling. (In the first photo I’m the one wearing the hat . . . .)

Rode from Deadwood to Hill City today, about 50 miles and 3000 ft of elevation gain. Incredibly beautiful ride — great weather, hard to describe the natural splendor though. Looks like cold and rain tomorrow and Saturday, which might scuttle the remainder of our plan to finish off the Mickelson Trail (109 total miles from Deadwood to Edgemont).
