Playoff scenarios:

1-Fire: The Fire can lock the number 1 spot in the playoffs with a win this weekend. After being battle tested in a great match up against the raptors the Fire look to seal the top spot with a win this weekend over the hurricanes.

2- Rhinos: the rhinos have been silent since there week 1 loss to the Fire but have been winning games without a hassle 49-6 just this past weekend vs the Steelers. The rhinos can possibly finish as high as the 2 seed if they can win out the rest of there remaining schedule. There remaining schedule consist of games vs the sharks, hurricanes, and tomahawks.
I personally believe the tomahawks vs rhinos matchup will tell it all for this team.

3-Raptors- The raptors truly control their own destiny at this point of the season. After taking a hard fought loss last weekend to the Fire the raptors look to gain control of the 2nd seed BUT in order to do so they must win out convincingly! The raptors can definitely put up points my question to them is “HOW BAD DO THEY WANT THAT HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE?”
The raptors remaining schedule consists of the tomahawks, Steelers and sharks. Can the raptors right the ship after last weeks loss or will they let all there hard work this season slip away? They have a huge matchup this weekend vs the tomahawks and I believe this game will be one that no one should miss!

4- Tomahawks: The defending 2026 champions took there 1st loss of the season a few weeks ago to the Fire in what was a great game until the last few minutes of the 4th quarter BUT I feel the tomahawks have the one thing a lot of teams need when it counts and that is none other than a great coach and play caller in Coach Dwight Gifford. If my memory is correct the last loss the tomahawks took they didn’t lose again on the way to winning a championship last season. After my conversation with coach Dwight this past weekend I’m eager to see how the rest of the season goes for them. With there remaining schedule being against the raptors, sharks and rhinos I believe they have the toughest 3 games left for any team league wise. They will truly be battle tested but my question to them is can the repeat the same recipe in 2027???

5- Steelers: The Steelers are in a position to where they can set themselves up for a great playoff push with a win this weekend over the monsters. The biggest concern I have for the Steelers is can they play to the level of the other top teams in the league. They have the talent for sure especially with there play maker Abreon “AB” Brown leading the pack but with Noonie having to miss the next two games can he put the team on his shoulder and will them to a playoff spot?
There remaining schedule consist of the monsters and the raptors. The Steelers need to win this weekend and make next weekends game vs the raptors very competitive by scoring points in order to lock in at least the 5th seed in the playoffs. My question to them is “ CAN YOU GUYS COME TOGETHER AND WIN?”

6-Monsters- Now I will say there is a 4 team race right now for the 5th and 6th seed and that makes the last few games very interesting(Steelers-Monsters-Sharks-Hurricanes). The monsters need to win need a win this weekend to at least have a chance to lock in a playoff spot and possibly knock the Steelers out of playoff contention with a win this weekend. A loss this weekend will more than likely push them out of the playoff picture. So my question to the monsters “ CAN YALL GET THE JOB DONE WHEN IT MATTERS MOST?”

(OUTSIDE LOOKING IN)

1-2 Sharks- I personally feel the sharks can be a playoff team but in order to creep in they need to squeeze out a win either vs the rhinos or tomahawks and honestly those two teams are rolling right now. Can the sharks be the team I expect them to be or will they fall short?

0-3 Hurricanes- if they take a loss this weekend that will possibly be the end of there season as they more than likely will not be playoff eligible. With them having the toughest two game stretch I’m hoping they can play spoiler and sneak a win out and possibly make the playoffs. With them having young owner ship I believe no matter what this owner will come back next season surprising a lot of teams but for this season they would need some help in order to make the playoffs. I’ve seen crazy things happen so I can’t count them out until it’s all over.

The SLAA has 2 teams ranked in the WeLit TV national 8 man rankings 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Here are our First 8Man rankings of the 2026 Year since Natty Weekend this past January.

#1 Desert Sentinels have done it again. They are B2B Champs recently capturing the PIFL title. The Sentinels were inviting to the 2026 WeLit Tv National Championship where they walked away with a 1pt win and a national crown ! Only right that they continue to sit at the top of the rankings as they wait to see how the rest of the teams and their seasons pan out.

#2 Texas Demons -after defeating the RC Gators in the 2025 MOFA Elite-8 Championship, a game that could easily go down as one of the most exciting 8 man Games in Texas History . The Demons walked away with a 1 point victory and earned their way into a National Championship game vs the Sentinels. At the end of the night the Demons found their self on the other side of a 1 pt game and ultimately fell short of a national championship. The Demons return to the MOFAE8 to defend their title as their season kicks off in Oct and they fight for their spot back at the National Weekend Game !

#3 River City Gators suffered a heartbreaking 1 Pt loss to the Texas Demons in the 2025 MOFA Elite-8 Championship game . They marched into the 2026 National Bowl game with a chip on their shoulder walking a way with a Natty Bowl Victory vs the MBG Kings. The Gators season kicks off in October as they look to fight there way to another league championship and another Natty Bid.

#4 MBG Kings come into the rankings after falling short to the Gators in their National Bowl Debut. This team is ready to bounce back as their participate in the 8MIFL and the MOFAE8 leagues this year. Will they big in the top 6 when December comes?

#5 MidWest Assailants find their way our rankings , going 9-0 in the NFA and capturing a division title before ultimately losing in the Conference Championship. A team we know can win games , but have to wait to see if their 9-1 season play was enough to get them a national bid.

#6 Arkansas Boltz are another NFA team that showed promise this season as they also went 9-0 and captured a division championship before falling in the conference championship to end their season 9-1. Where will they land in December.

#7 Silverbacks sat right outside the bubble this year in the NFA this season finishing 6-2 . With 4 of our top 10 teams waiting to start their season and the other 2 teams mid way through, who knows where the Silverbacks land. Just know if their name is called, they will be ready to play.

#8 West Florida Fire sits on top of the SLAA rankings at 3-0 facing the #2 League ranked team this weekend . Looking to continue the momentum, can they reach the top 6 ranked by Dec.?

#9 Raptors control their destiny early in the season as they are 2-0 and #2 Ranked in the SLAA and face the #1 Ranked Team in SLAA this weekend . The ball is in their court can they remain undefeated?

#10 Lewisville Savage kick off their 8MIFL next month as they aim to be one of the leagues top teams . Projected to be in the top 2 come their championship game , we will keep an eye on the Savage this season.

WEEK 1 is in the books ‼️‼️‼️ We had some good games played today. I’m proud of our owners for coming together and making this week a success. A few things will be fixed going forward but all in all I was impressed at how owners stepped up this weekend. With that being said I would also like to thank the players because none of this happens with out you guys. You all did what yall love to to do which is play this game of football that we all love.

Last but not least I would like to thank all of our administrators and board members for making this week a success. I know how much work we’ve put into this and I just want you all to know this could not happen without all of you. Thank yall so much for everything you guys do. Truly the best group in the business in my eyes.

Pops this one for you. I know it may have not been perfect but we got the job done. I hope you’re proud and thank you again for trusting me with this opportunity.
