The Silver D**e Mine is a notable historical underground mine located in Mineral County, Nevada, approximately 12 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of the small town of Mina. Situated at an elevation of roughly 7,001 feet within the Silver Star Mining District of the eastern Excelsior Mountains, it is famous for being one of Nevada's primary historical producers of tungsten.

Discovered in 1915 by C.E. Noble, it originally operated briefly as a minor gold and silver extraction site. Operations rapidly shifted to tungsten in 1916 to meet the high demand and soaring prices for tool steel during World War I.

The property was acquired by the Nevada-Massachusetts Company in 1929. They consolidated the workings (including the Beane, Wagner, and Goodale mines) through a 4,000-foot underground drift.

By the time primary operations slowed in the late 1930s, the mine had generated over $1,000,000 worth of scheelite concentrates. Its tungsten heavily supplied tool manufacturing and early incandescent light bulb filaments.

The mine operated intermittently until at least 1956. It is currently closed and exists as a ghost town site featuring abandoned cabins, a large mill site, and extensive tailing piles.

The mine centers around an extensive, continuous epithermal quartz vein system (the "d**e") ranging from 25 to 200 feet wide that stretches for nearly four miles across the mountainside. The main commodity extracted is scheelite (a premier tungsten ore).
