So, you thought we were done??? We have one final inductee in the Class of 2018 in the Player category... This player is a Dayton product - playing his youth and high school ball right here in the Miami Valley. He want on to play division 1 college ball here in the buckeye state. After that, he was blessed to play professionally all across this country and overseas. His minor-league football time has been spent right here in the Dayton area, and his contributions have been seen in all 3 phases of the game: Offense as a QB and WR, Defense as a DB and Special Teams as a punt returner. He has electrified fans (young and old), and continues to play at the highest level. This player has matured as a leader and has become a guy whose teammates can count on to not only make plays on the field, but to help mentor and lead off of it. I'm proud to announce the final inductee into the 2018 Dayton Minor-League Football Hall of Fame, in the category of Player - Robert Horton Redd!

2018 HOF Inductee(s) in the category of Player(s).... Typically each inductee has his own announcement, but based on the the circumstances, we felt it fitting to announce these 2 inductees together. These two players began playing together in 1997, and played all but the 1998 season together. Their careers spanned 21 years - with 11 league championships and 5 national championships. During that period of time, both players excelled on dominant offensive lines in both the Dayton and Columbus areas. Just as impressive as their play was their level of commitment - earning them the ultimate level of respect from their peers (teammates and opponents alike). Both were members of the 2017 HOF TEAM Inductee Central Ohio Lions - congratulations to 2018 Dayton Minor-League Football Inductees in the category of Player - Kevin Hyme and Alan McPherson!

2018 HOF Inductee in the category of TEAM - The Dayton Steelers..... The Steelers were in operation from 1990-1998. During their first year of operation, they were members of the Hearts of Ohio League where they went undefeated. The following year, they joined the MCFL (often regarded as a true powerhouse league) where they were league runner up multiple times along with runners up for the national championship, losing 21-17 to the storied Dupage Eagles. Although the Steelers were not the first team in the area, they were one of the first to dominate in the fashion that they did -
often attracting the best football talent from not only Dayton but the surrounding cities (Columbus, Cincinnati, etc.). Congratulations to 2018 HOF Inductee in the TEAM category - The Dayton Steelers!

2018 HOF Inductee in the category of Contributor - Mike "Buck" Brown...... "Buck" began his minor league football playing days as a Miami Valley Warrior. His hard-nosed running style and do-it-all mentality earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike. After playing with the Warriors, Buck went on to play with the successful Midwest Force out of the Piqua area. Looking to do something closer to home, he co-founded the Ohio Crush, a local team out of the New Carlisle/Park Layne area. The Crush were formed out of sweat and hard work, and Buck was a backbone in the process - helping in recruiting as well as making sure the Crush had a place to play week in and week out. It was normal to see Buck out mowing, rolling, and even lining the field every Friday night before home games - often with little help - and usually coming out of his own pocket to get the job done. Buck's selfless and team first attitude undoubtedly helped the Crush to get over the hump and become a true championship contender. His time as a player, co-founder and overall efforts have and will continue to contribute to making minor league football in the Dayton area great! Congratulations to Mike "Buck" Brown, 2018 Dayton Minor League Football Hall of Fame Inductee!
