While in Corbin, the Panthers got to meet a man with an inspiring story. Travis Freeman lost his eyesight at the age of 12 to an infection but continued to play football for the Rebounds, even while being completely blind. He eventually went on to become the equipment manager for the University of Kentucky football team. He later received a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of the Cumberland’s and as the President of the Freeman Foundation. His life story was written in the book “Lights Out”, and later inspired the major motion picture “23 Blast”. Thank you, Travis for taking the time to meet and talk with our players!!

The Panthers have an up and coming supporting cast that improves with every rep they get. Senior Trevor McKnight has put in the work over the years and is getting his moments on the floor and has played well. Junior CJ Motley is a newcomer to the Panthers but continues to show improvement every day. He’s made every field goal attempt he’s taken this year. Sophomore Lucus Duke works hard day in and day out. He’s continuing to improve and will become a central piece in the future.
Others not pictured that are developing well, and showing promising futures include Junior Preston Drennan, Sophomores Chase Miles, Chandler Anderson and Matthew Stanley, Freshman Zach Creekmur, Aedan Crook and Mikel Day.
The future is bright Panther Nation!!
