Game 2 MVP is Rylee Mutchler. She had a great hit and RBI but really shined catching. A perfect play on a bunt to tag the runner rather than throwing to first saved a run and really built momentum in our 5-2 win over Iowa Blitz who are #4 in the state. These girls are on a roll!

MVP for game #1 goes to Sadie Shanstrom. She was awake at 3:30 am but man did show up for the 8 am game. 9 strikeouts in 5 innings to beat the 5th ranked Benton Bruisers. The whole team hit amazing, ran bases aggressively, and had zero errors. What a game!

Tomorrow the bears 11U play at 8am for the first round of the state tournament. Tonight the team enjoyed a team dinner cooked by coach Brad at the hotel while they enjoyed a little time in the pool. After dinner we came in and the moms put together goodie bags. A couple mom's had a great idea for a team building exercise. They got a poster with the name of each player and had all the girls pass them around the table and write a positive comment about what you like about that teammate. After the girls were done the coaches took their turn to write comments for the girls. It was a great night for team building.

Last saturday the Bears 11U played in iowa city. It was a tough day facing some great teams.

Our MVP went to Collins she had several amazing plays in the field. At the plate she had a great hit that got robbed but was able to geta RBI out of it. Great game collins keep.up the good work.

10u C State Update:

Getting home after midnight on a Sunday after a full weekend of state softball in Des Moines + bringing home 2ND PLACE in the entire state = priceless!!! Words can't even begin to describe how proud we are of each and every one of these girls. They left it all on the ballfield this weekend 👏🏼

Talk about grit and determination. We started with a long rain delay on Sunday and wondered if we would even get one game in. 3 games later these girls pushed through and came home with some bling!

These girls don't understand the depth of what this means for them. To be this young and to make it this far as a first year team together is quite a feat. We cannot wait to see what is to come!

We are moved to 1pm. The radar doesn't look too promising around that time but we will see! All consolation games have been cancelled in hopes of speeding things up. Fingers crossed we can get at least one game in today.

We are currently on a rain delay. No games have started yet today so at best we will be pushed back an hour or two. We will get our next update at 10am. As much as we need this rain, these fields aren't soaking it in well. To be continued...

Our 10u girls are on the road this weekend for the biggest tournament of year, Iowa USSSA C State! Our girls played so hard today in the Iowa heat and went 2-0. We start back up tomorrow at 11am with the goal of bringing home the state championship title!

These girls have put their blood, sweat and tears into practices and tournaments this year, and now they are leaving everything they've worked so hard for on the field this weekend. We couldn't be prouder!

The bears 11U had an amazing weekend in Tiffin coming out with some bling. with 2 girls on the injured list the other 10 girls showed up and won 4 games to put them in the winners circle. The last game of the day showed us all what this team is capable, with a hard fought game the Bears came out ahead with a 1-0 win over a very tough DC Bombers team. It was a pitching dual, pitchers from both teams had their work cut out for them but in the end Sadie Shanstrom took the win. Congratulations girls keep up the great work.

This past weekend the bears 11U played in Tiffin IA Wining 4 games to put them in the winners circle. It was a very hard decision on the bears MVP necklace this weekend there were a lot of great plays by many girls. This one was well deserved and went to Alayna Jud who had an amazing weekend with 3 single 3 walks 2 RBI's and 4 runs scored. But where she really shined was on the field. At practice we have been working on getting on the ground and getting dirty, she showed us all how it was done in the 1st game of the day. Playing right field there was a pop fly hit down the first base line in foul territory and she chased it down diving to make an amazing catch, and she didn't stop there she had several great plays through out the day and at the final at bat she swung at a pitch and it hit her hand for a single, with a banged up finger she didn't let that stop her in the field to end the game with another amazing catch. Congratulations Alayna you have an amazing attitude on and off the field. Keep up the hard work.
