I don't even know where to begin with this post. I whispered to Andi when I handed her, her diploma 10 days ago that we were not done yet and now here we are at the end.
Andi has always kept things interesting over the past 3 years. In one of our first few practices all I heard about was how bad she wanted to break Rose Mickley's Shot Put record. It became so incessant that I eventually had to ban the word "record". Then during a Sunday throwing session after 35 throws, she popped a big one and lit up with the belief she could do that again. Then we went to Fredericktown for a tri meet and she broke it for the first time. 4 days later, she broke it again at Loudonville(after sliding in the wet grass trying to rush to throw disc and hurting herself).
The following two and a half seasons were filled with setbacks and injuries, but she never quit or allowed what was bothering her to keep her from working as hard as she possibly could to figure things out and keep getting better.
Even tonight, in her last meet, she competed held together with tape, bandaids and bailing twine. She PR'd twice and came within a few inches of moving on to Columbus.
Andi's career accolades:
4x Regional Qualifier
3x Regional Placer (5th, 6th and 7th)
4x District Placer
4x KMAC placer
School Record Holder in the Shot Put at 36'7 and then 36' 10.5
Blue Devil Throwing wants to wish Andi congrats on a great career and good luck as she continues her throwing career at Rhodes College in Memphis.
