One of my kickboxing students asked for advice on stretching:

Stretch 3 or more times/week. My favorite way to stretch is to combine static stretches with dynamic stretches. First, you should always do a warm up before a stretch. Something like jumping jacks, high knees, mountain climbers, etc. will do fine. Then you need to stretch the major muscle groups, but especially in the legs, and work your way to smaller muscle groups. Hold the static stretches for at least 20-30 seconds, then pulse lightly about 20 times. For dynamic stretching, there are some yoga poses that work well, but you could also do some high-kicking exercises and swing exercises. You have to stretch 3 or more times a week to get the best results. It's best to make it a habit before and after every workout. There are a lot of different methods and some work better than others, depending on the person.
