2025 New Rules Changes for North Texas Tournament Play
Effective January 1, 2025

• Online rosters only. No write-ins allowed. Teams that do not have the minimum number of players online are subject to protest. Teams will be ejected from the tournament if the protest is upheld.

• All players must now register with USSSA before they are allowed to be added to a team’s approved roster.

• If the batter hits the ball with an altered bat or does not have the current USSSA Certification Mark, play is dead, the batter is out, and ejected for the game/tournament. Runners on base will return to their previously occupied base.

• In all cases, when a blocked ball occurs including defensive equipment or team representatives on an overthrow, ball is immediately dead. Each and every base runner is awarded two bases from last base occupied, unless required to retouch.

• Base Line and Base Path Definition – the base line refers to an imaginary line 3 feet to either side of a direct line between two bases. The runner is restricted to the 3-foot line in some cases. The base path is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely.

• All Tournaments scheduled on the 1st Saturday of each month in North Texas that are not State Level tournaments will be GSL and follow GSL rules. Those dates are January 4, February 1, March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, October 4, November 1 and December 6.
GSL RULE VARIATIONS
No Flip Flop Rule
DHH (Designated Homerun Hitter announced before the game begins)
Pitching – 5’ from ground and maximum 10’ from ground
Double entry is allowed. Teams may substitute all players a maximum of two times
per game into the batting position.

THE 2025 APPEAL PERIOD IS JANUARY 1-31

How A Player Files An Appeal To Reclassify!

1) Players must be on a 2025 online roster.
2) Player is required to pay the $25 player registration fee via usssa.com to gain access to their player page.
3) Once logged in to the player page, they must sign the waiver and any team roster invitation.
4) Make sure your City, State and Zip Code is correct. Your appeal will go to the State Director that corresponds to this information on your page.
5) Click the red appeal icon.
6) Complete all fields on the appeal form.
7) Submit the appeal form.

The process does take time depending on how many appeals are received nationwide. You must play under your current 2025 PRV during the processing period. I will email you once a decision has been made by the National Classification Committee to either approve or deny your appeal.

2025 North Texas USSSA Managers

**Tips for 2025 team/player registration**
Managers-When you register your team for 2025, use the register: Existing team tab rather than the Register NEW team tab. By using the Existing team tab, your player list will populate over, making it easier for you to add to the roster by clicking the Add Former Player Tab. You can still change/modify the 2025 team name using the Existing tab.

Players added to a roster will automatically be listed on the resend link tab until they have completed the following items.
1) Players MUST login to their profile and pay the $25 registration fee.
2) Sign the 2025 waiver.
3) Accept the team invite.

ALL players MUST be listed as Approved in order to play in an event.

For NEW players with no profile in the system, we will need:
Copy of Players Driver's license
Players Email AND
Phone Number

Always include team name & division in the email subject line.

If a player is attempting to approve a team add request to a 2024 roster, they must do so via the team invite email they receive. Please have the player check their junk/spam filters as the email may have gone into that folder. I can resend the players invite link. Just email me the team, classification and players name to [email protected].

If a player logs in straight to their player dashboard, the new waiver and payment field page will display.

I have received numerous emails and phone calls regarding player registration, so I wanted to clarify the process.

Once a player is added to a roster, they will then be able to log in to pay the player registration fee, sign the waiver, and approve the roster addition. Please note that a player cannot register without first being added to a roster.

I understand that some players may not know which team they will be playing on initially. However, once they start playing and are listed on an online roster, the steps are simple.

Tech is set to launch the 2025 slowpitch season on Monday December 2. They are working on posting a banner ad sharing this information with our customers. Coaches will be able to register their teams for the 2025 season at this time.

New this year, all players will need to register before they are able to be added to a roster. Here are some bullet points regarding this item.
1) Any adult player that intends to be on an online roster will be required to sign their waiver and pay $25 via usssa.com. Until these 2 steps have been completed, a player will not be able to view their player page.
2) THIS WILL NOT EFFECT LEAGUE ROSTERS UNLESS THOSE ROSTERS ARE HOSTED ONLINE AT USSSA.COM
3) Players will not be permitted to file an appeal unless they have a valid player account.
4) Players cannot be placed on any Challenge Cup roster unless they have a valid player account.
5) A discount/partnership program will be laid out during the year to offer discount codes from our manufacturer partners, USSSA pro shop, USSSA live, etc. A player will receive well more than their $25 fee if they take advantage of at least one of these opportunities.

North Texas USSSA Coaches and Players,

I am thrilled to share the news that I have been appointed as the new North Texas USSSA State Director officially beginning December 1. Having been associated with USSSA as both a player and director for over 30 years, I am honored to step into this role with a deep commitment to North Texas and USSSA as a whole.

North Texas USSSA's footprint extends from Waco to the Oklahoma border, and from Mineral Wells to the Louisiana border. This vast region is home to a vibrant population of athletes and supporters.

I am excited to lead North Texas into a future focused on growth, fair play and transparency where we will continue to empower our coaches and players with the knowledge and opportunities to excel in the sport we love. My goal is to enhance the experience for all our coaches and players by providing them with the information and support they need to thrive.
